Nice to see the billionaire dyson jumping the brexit ship he helped to create – it reminds us of the true nature of all rats..
Eoin
Uk’s richest man and ardent Brexiteer, Jim Ratcliffe (seriously, that’s his surname) upped sticks and scarpered off to Monaco as soon as he got his honour from the Queen after the Brexit vote, Jacob Rees-Mogg now has three of the funds in his Somerset Capital group registered in Dublin with the Irish Central Bank, Theresa May’s husband’s investment group has relocated from the UK to Luxembourg. Aaron Banks’ wealth is supposedly buried in companies based in Gibraltar and the Isle of Man, yes, technically British, but hidden from the eyes of authorities in the UK.
Fine Gael. The party that brought the border back to Ireland? What’s cast iron, and politically bulletproof? The Backstab?
Boys letting on they can do men’s work. Step forward Varadkar, Coveney, Harris, Murphy.
The Great Wall of Gammon
Because it’s all their fault. Yeah. That’s it. Clown.
Giggidygoo
Did I say that?
Rep
It was implied. Since you obviously feel they are doing it wrong, what should they be doing to ensure no hard border?
GiggidyGoo
‘It was ALL their fault’ is what was written. Clown calls other poster clown, and another clown agrees with him?
Rep
FG wouldn’t be the party that brought it back though as you claim. They would be the party that were in charge when the UK crashed out of the EU with no deal, whereby forcing a border. So not the fault of anyone in Ireland but only the UK and the UK alone.
Since, in your opinion, they are boys doing mans jobs it would seem that you know what they should have done so please expand on the correct path they should have taken.
Giggidygoo
A good start would be being honest.
GiggidyGoo
Rep. Don’t take my word for it. Take Simon Coveney’s if You like
“once you start talking about checks anywhere near the Border, people will start delving into that and all of a sudden we’ll be the Government that reintroduced a physical border on the island of Ireland”
Martco
well in all fairness to @Giggidy there….this is all happening on THEIR watch, THEY have said those things. I remember how giddy team Ireland looked on the telly when the backstop showed up at first, all confident swagger, their EPP mates got their back. Contrast that with the look on sailor Simon’s face yesterday like Bayern in ‘99.
Creed on the radio now tripping up over himself, trying the fingers in the ears lalalla not working.
They better hope the No Deal is removed from the table now, wha?
Rob_G
Well the UK is a sovereign nation; we can offer our encouragement and best wishes, but we can’t actually intervene to stop them shooting themselves in the foot repeatedly.

“In the absence of agreed solutions, the United
Kingdom will maintain full alignment [in Northern Ireland] with those rules of the Internal Market and the
Customs Union which, now or in the future, support North-South cooperation, the allisland
economy and the protection of the 1998 Agreement.”
That cast-iron guarantee? The one contained in article 49 of the EU/UK agreement in December 2017? Yes, that’s the one that Leo said was “bullet proof”? And said it was further reiterated in a legal sense in March 2018. Why isn’t Leo jumping up and down about this agreement now? Why has he buckled?
As the boy Coveney said (under his breath when he didn’t think he was being recorded last week) “But once you start talking about checks anywhere near the border, people will start delving into that and all of a sudden we’ll be the government that reintroduced a physical border on the island of Ireland”
Absolutely spot on G, boys sent out to do a man’s job.
This is really simple stuff. If the Sasamachs want a deal then the deal must include the backstop. If they leave with no deal then there’s no backstop.
The EU27 can’t force the Sasamachs to accept a deal and the EU27 won’t sell out Ireland to placate the Sasamachs.
GiggidyGoo
‘Proposed’ backstop. And Ms. May isn’t entitled to make any agreement as regards withdraw. Proof of which has been apparent over the past two weeks.
So, apart from no backstop, a withdrawal agreement doesn’t exist either. It’s, again, a proposal.
Ron
Get Varadkar and Coveney out now before they do anymore irreparable damage to this country over Brexit.
He has destroyed the relationship with Britain all in order to allow the EU hold them to ransom with Ireland as the stick to beat them with.
He will be directly responsible for a return to trouble in NI with so much as a talk of borders. Inept, incompetent and inexperienced. The damage is very real now
RuilleBuille
Mary Lou is the only politician calling it as it is.
Martco
yeah heard her this morning, suits her of course.
it’s all speculation but if No Deal prevails then I agree with her in that it’s one of two outcomes whether we like it or not a) referendum followed by 32 counties b) we get bottlenecked into some special border arrangement in Zeebrugge or somesuch kick in the balls….and who would pay for all that?
The US lads pouring in all that lovely FDI tax avoidance dollar reckon will be paying close attention.

Four arrested yesterday in Dublin by Gardai investigating funding of Islamic State.
“A Garda statement said the suspects, who are from a former Soviet republic, were arrested over “suspected terrorist financing contrary to section 13 of the Criminal Justice Terrorist Offences Act”.”
“The four suspects, aged in their 30s, 40s and 60s, were being held at the Bridewell and Irishtown Garda stations last night.”
reports the Irish Times today.
Do we know at all whatever happened to the two, former Soviet republic, Uzbekistan inmates of Guantanamo that the Irish government, under Brian Cowen and justice minister Dermot Ahern accepted here in 2009. No details were provided about the pair in 2009, their ages, grounds for capture etc, but you can be fairly certain they were brutalised by the Americans in Guantanamo. Did they just assimilate into Irish society, never to be heard of again?

The EU stabbed Ireland in the back during the financial crisis snd no it’s about to do it again.
Nigel
No, that’s the UK stabbing us in the front.
GiggidyGoo
A kind of Ides of March.

Did you see yesterday that the former CEO of Barnado’s Fergus Finlay has been appointed to the HSE board by Simon Harris. Fergus’s pay exceeded HSE rates* when he was at Barnados and didn’t he get into the doo-doo when Barnardos was found funding his bid to get a seat in the Seanad?
Fergus isn’t the only appointee, there’s executives from AIB (hahahahahaha), Kerry group (Kerrygold, Denny, Galtee, carcinogenic, heart-stopping brands), Retina International (drugs company). And a former president of the GAA.
Ireland me hat ,all I hear is Eu said your donning this and eu said your donning that ,and don’t answer back as we’re they boss .yes sir how high are we to jump .
