#fakenewsfrom the Irish Times. 43k paid subscription s /- so much for the recycled Guardian virtue signaling. They’re finished.

What or who is funding the Irish Times? It’s hardly viable at this stage? Or is it? I don’t know, maybe someone could answer that here?
It’s astounding to think that many people pay for the Sunday Independent.

Em… that’s 7.6k subscriptions, plus 43k paid single copies… ie, purchased, in a shop like.

I was in a pub quite early in Harolds Cross about 2 weeks ago before a funeral, place had literally only just opened and in walks a guy with a stack of Independents and leaves them on the bar. I had a quick check, 20 copies. I wonder do they include them in their figures for single paid copies or were they just given out to bump up circulation figures? I know fast food places have lots of free copies in the morning too?

Same with the hilariously outdated RTE guide, place I used to work for used to get a few dozen free a month for the reception. Not that many read them.

”This week, we speak to the facilities manager at Montrose on how he manages to keep Marty’s Moustache free of leaves and nesting swallows”….

I used to like the RTE Christmas guide but that’s kind of it, and I don’t really read even that nowadays

Ireland’s Own – now there’s a publication. If you’re visiting someone sick in hospital bring one in to them. Laughter is the best medicine etc.

Is that still a thing? I remember that in the dentists as a child and I may have seen a copy of it in Easons a few years back?

How about the St Martin magazine? Or the Sacred Heart Messenger magazine? They’re total zingers.

Paid single copies are shop bought by individuals. What most do assume to be circulation.

Paid multiple copies, or bulk distribution, are the thing you describe… with 20 copies left in to the bar.

Only 43k Irish Times sold!!!! Is that the funeral bell I hear? Won’t be long until the paper itself it’s featured under the paper’s death notices.
Will you please put up the Irish Daily Mail figures, just for the laugh … go on …. please

  4. The Observer

119,051 was Irish Times circulation in 2008.
I said there was 43k earlier … ok, add the 7.6k subscriptions and bring it to 51k. Even bring it up to the ABC circulation figure today of 58k
    It’s a 50% decrease in 10 years!!!!!!!
