Metro North was cancelled because of the crash. At that time, there no mention of Metro South. Continuing with North is the right way to proceed because a link to the airport is the priority. And, the inconvenience that will cause is enough to be going on with. Stephens Green for example will be a big hole and all that earth to be carried out by lorries.

But once it does start, watch the price of houses in swords soar.

It was always part of it and it’s needed for the northern part of the line to operate.

It’s why the green line was built to metro standard – it wasn’t mentioned much in previous Metro-North plans because it was just taken as a given that it would be happening.

The amount of myths and lies being pushed about this is crazy.

All this panic is being close by a few people around Dunville Avenue who don’t want the crossing to be close to cars.

The Luas won’t close during works
The tracks won’t be ripped up
It can’t go to SW dublin instead – that would be an extra 3-4 billion vs the 100m+ for an upgrade.
