Waste Not, Want Not

at

This afternoon.

At O’Carroll’s shop on O’Connell Street, Dublin 1.

Leprechaun-themed St Paddy’s ‘items’ on sale and tried on by Sabine Groepl from Germany.

Meanwhile…

Darragh Doyle tweetz:

A lot of novelty green plastic will be bought this St Patrick’s Day. A lot will be wasted. It doesn’t have to end up in landfill. @EPICMuseumCHQ will swap the novelty plastic for tickets to the Museum. It will then be donated to Social Enterprise @ReCreateIreland for reuse.

In fairness.

‘Carbon Neutral Paddy’ just doesn’t have the same ring as ‘Plastic Paddy’.

    In fairness…

+ 1 Leprechauns, minature shillelaghs (daintily varnished), ‘traditional paddyhats’, green bawneens, t-shirts with the rubric KISS ME I’M IRISH and outsize mugs decorated with shamrock and sheep blocking coastal roads in Mayo are other cliches that contribute to national embarrassment. And most of this is a creation of Irish-America and Hollywood.
