It really isn’t. It’s €47.50 in the Merrion, I think. Nearly 50 snots anyway.

      1. Brother Barnabas

according to my visual analysis, for 37.50, you get 4 “MINI chocolate treats”, 4 “FINGER sandwiches” and 2 “TEENY scones”, cup of tea and a glass of prosecco. actually i suppose that’s quite good.

but i had lunch recently in etto – and it was €47.50 (for BOTH). that was REALLY good, i thought.

You know what, I walk past that almost daily and pretty much think every single time that I must go there. It has such a good reputation. Better than when Govinda’s was in there, anyway.

For a a very pleasant mid morning treat, the tea service in the Merrion is the perfect antidote to the trials of life. A pot of loose leaf tea served in lovely china is €6.50. You will also receive a side of the most lovely mini cakes to complement it. Just the right amount too. Great mix of teas available too. So all in all tea and cake for €6.50 by the fire in the Merrion is pretty amazing.

You’ll appreciate this, given your user name. Their ham n spud n cabbage n parsley sauce (in the Cellar Bar) is around €15 (maybe more now) and absolutely and utterly delicious.

I deserve the Butlers Chocolate Afternoon Tea for Two at the Morrison especially this Easter owing to allow me to treat my amazing sweet wife as I’m in the final stretch of a part time masters and her support has been phenomenal. With a young child to look after also, she has been choc full of positive vibes for me and deserves to have an egg-stra special time to show her I care … at no egg-spense to me :)

  2. missred

Not nearly enough food there before your dessert to be feasting on. The last time I was at a similar one of these I was bamboozled by 5pm.

  3. Cool_Hand_Lucan

I absolutely deserve the Bulters Chocolate Afternoon Tea for Two at the Morrison especially this Easter owing to my inability to great rid of my snap-hook on the tee box. It’s really killing my game, even though my putting form is going through something of a renaissance.

I absolutely deserve (well, technically I don’t, my wife does) the Bulters Chocolate Afternoon Tea for Two at the Morrison especially this Easter owing to the fact that I got my wife a vacuum cleaner for her birthday last week. It is a robot one admittedly, but I still got her a cleaning appliance for a present and I really need to dig myself out of this hole somehow..

    1. Andyourpointiswhatexactly?

What are you on about? I would love one of those. Was it a Dyson? If not, win the prize and sort yourself out, bud.

    2. realPolithicks

Jaysus, you bought your wife a vacuum cleaner for her birthday….the 1950’s called they want their pipe and slippers back.

      1. Spud

I bought my wife a new vacuum also.
She’d been dropping hints for a new bag and belt… but I spoiled her and got her a brand new one instead!

        1. Andyourpointiswhatexactly?

I have a mental image of you standing out on the street, winkle in your hand, sobbing.

Whatever tickles said fancy I guess. Could even you eoin, tear yourself away from current affairs and news for a foxtrot in a hotel ballroom?

  6. MFKeane

I absolutely deserve the Bulters Chocolate Afternoon Tea for Two at the Morrison especially this Easter owing to the owners of Butlers funding the Iona Institute and other ultra right-wing, and frankly creepy, Catholic societies.

    1. postmanpat

Its that true? I was thinking about booking a couple of €30 euro for my wife and mother in law but not if it’s literally a neo-con tea party. Oh and while I’m here… “I absolutely deserve the Bulters Chocolate Afternoon Tea for Two at the Morrison especially this Easter owing to the fact I’m great, in fact, I think I should have two prizes incase one doesn’t work because broadsheet spelled Butlers “Bulters” ‘

  7. Pedrito Nocciolino

I absolutely deserve the Bulters Chocolate Afternoon Tea for Two at the Morrison especially this Easter owing to the fact that Morrison Hotel by The Doors was the first cd I bought my wife and it would be amazing to be there this weekend enjoying the afternoon tea and thinking about Blue Sunday together.

I absolutely deserve the Bulters Chocolate Afternoon Tea for Two at the Morrison especially this Easter owing to my passion for chocolateering in its many forms: chocolate bars, fondue, baking chocolate, chocolate chips, hot chocolate, the full monty. A long long time ago, I can still remember my first Bulters Chocolate Afternoon Tea for Two. I was 17, she was 67, our eyes met, we knew we needed Bulters Chocolate Afternoon Tea for Two at the Morrison. I gently massaged the rich, luxurious Bulters Chocolate Afternoon Tea for Two at the Morrison into her already oiled skilled. We danced, we laughed. She would always say “Live, Laugh, Love, Bulters Chocolate Afternoon Tea for Two at the Morrison”. I miss her so much. Get well soon nan.

I absolutely deserve the Butlers Chocolate Afternoon Tea for Two at the Morrison especially this Easter owing to not deserving it. I never do anything to deserve anything. But getting something that i dont deserve will mean that i will give back in order to earn what i didnt deserve.

“I absolutely deserve the Bulters (sic) Chocolate Afternoon Tea for Two at the Morrison especially this Easter owing to my admiration for the technical architecture of the product. Applying Fowler’s Model View Controller blueprint from the world of IT to confectionery and lounge-based cuisine is inspired. I’ve always wanted to use finger sandwiches as controller over what to do with my input; kudos on the rich UI view layer flexibility and the clustered backend.”

I absolutely deserve the Butlers Chocolate Afternoon Tea for Two at the Morrison especially this Easter owing to the fact my name is Butler & I still don’t get a discount. Also have had to endure being called Bulter more than once – the horror !

  16. Nero Fiddled

I absolutely deserve the Bulters Chocolate Afternoon Tea for Two at the Morrison especially this Easter owing to the fact that I have had a horrendous time of it altogether. Me and the lads rocked on up to this one donkey town, boys on tour ya know. Went out on the lash and partway through the night one of the crew plants a big sloppy one on me. Not that kind of town apparently. I was hauled off 7 shades beat outta me, bleedin’ crucified and left to rot in some dark hole. I’m there now penning this, biding my time. It’ll be Sunday before I can show my face I’d say. Anyway long story short I’ve had an awful time of it and I’d love to take me new mot Mary out for afternoon tea. Thomas isn’t so sure about her, says “A bird wit the same name as yer ma, Freud would have a field day!” Anyway she’s top class, an exotic dancer so for Christ’s sake gimme the win.

  17. Spaghetti Hoop

I absolutely deserve the Bulters Chocolate Afternoon Tea for Two at the Morrison especially this Easter owing to my best friend of 20 years celebrating a massive birthday this weekend (big number ending in zero), and I’ve been too busy working and studying to find an apt gift. She is a wonderful person, who does so much for people. I don’t think she knows where the Morrison is, let alone a fancy afternoon tea. If I could bring her there and remind her of the old pool joint we used to go to on Ormond/ Bachelors Quay, that would be a classic pressie.
