21 years you gave them, then you betrayed them, Peadar.

Now that he’s an independent, Peadar wouldn’t be hanging out in the shinner wing of offices and would be given alternative space. He’s just to lazy to move.

      Its Holy Thursday.
Could there be a more appropriate day for a betrayal?

Probably the good lord before the crucifixion. Or someone ranty who was at the Aontu meeting.

What did this 21-year stalwart of famously dissent-tolerant Sinn Féin expect? A fond farewell piss-up in the Auld Triangle and a lifetime subscription to An Phoblacht?

“Man who joined party full of psychopathic bullies is surprised upon being bullied by a psychopath”

“F*ck off out of this floor, F*ck off out of this area & F*ck off out of this office before something happens”

It’s like something you’d hear from an anti-migrant party addressing someone of a different race.

It’s very Malcolm Tucker. I like it. I would prefer this to the standard and rather bland office farewells where everyone stands around eating cake and promising to keep in touch.

Spaghetti, you were thiiis close to wining the Afternoon Tea. We’re organising a consolation prize.

He tore off his shirt and nutted the barstud, it’s tradition

The guards are on the scene trying to talk him off the roof

The same week Notre Dame burned down , a bad week for the persecution of the cata-holics….

“Peadar Tóibín has not been a member of Sinn Féin since November last year, yet he is still on the Sinn Féin floor in Leinster House. A party official today asked him to move off the floor. This was a private conversation. This issue is not uncommon in other parties when members leave. The party has no further comment to make”

Says SF in a statement this evening, not contradicting the account given by Peadar.

Shinners need to cop on and ditch that sense of entitlement, they mightn’t have a floor to move off next election if they keep up this attitude.

    Spoilt for choice
Patsy gave me so much to pick from

    Let’s start with
    He’s really not an Independent

Aontú is a political party. With a political agenda and political ambitions.

WTF was he still parking in the with the Shinners anyway
He effed off and set up to run against them
And since he’s specifically chasing the oul’ Republican neo-conservative tiocfidhs and legions of Marys
His conduct is shabby, unprofessional and spitful afaic
He resigned and got on with his new gig last NOVEMBER
He’s had plenty time to trek the byways and parishes of Ireland alright
How many requests to move do ye think he ignored?
    His indignation is fake
Making his behaviour in this tweet obnoxious and arrogant

As to the inconvenience of having to pack up his stuff and shift himself

    Well
He couldn’t give a rhymes with muck about women packing their bits into overnight bags to travel
And if he had his way
    They’d still have’ta

  8. Kevin Higgins

Doesnt mention the 5 months grace he was given or the 15 written requests. Smacks of ‘ye wouldn’t hit a man with glasses’

Toibin is being a whiny baby. I worked in Leinster House for a number of years, and this happens with every TD who leaves a political party – often for far less than setting up a new political party that directly challenges as is the case with Toibin. SF have shown him an enormous degree of patience by letting him stay in his office for 6 months – far more than most parties.

  10. Truth in the News

SF may be under the illusion that they own a floor in Leinster House, they do not, all TD’s are
representatives of the entire electorate and may belong to party or none, but their duty is
represent all the Citizens. Sinn Fein if they had any brain should have allowed those who
are elected to public office a free choice, if they did they would have hardly lost Toibin , he
was one of their best Dail members, Currently Sinn Fein seem to be emulating the
behaviour practiced by that other well known political party called Fianna Fail, and see
    where it got them
