Met Eireann has announced that there is now Status Red wind warning (gusts of up to 150kph) out for Clare from 8pm until 11pm tonight, on account of Storm Hannah.

It’s also announced that similar gusts may reach Connemara, the Aran Islands, Dingle and the coasts of Kerry, Cork and Waterford.

Looking at the weather map on top from a proper weather forecasting organisation, it looks like Dublin will in fact experience wind of 90 kmh+

Yet Met Eireann’s weather warning doesn’t extend to Dublin but this is what it says about the bits which are subject to a yellow warning.

“Status Yellow – Wind warning for Connacht, Carlow, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Longford, Wexford, Wicklow, Offaly, Donegal, Tipperary and Waterford, Becoming very windy on Friday night and for a time on Saturday morning. Southerly winds will veer northwesterly and reach mean speeds of 50-65km/h with gusts of 90 to 110 km/h.”

I hope We Are Dublin Town send a nice big hamper over to Met Eireann, just think of all those shoppers who would have cancelled their trips if there was weather warning.

Weird rubber neck thing- One lane closed and about 20 cars with flat types off the M50 onto the M4 at around noon? Kids dumping sharp objects from bridge or negligent lorry.

          No media coverage either way.
