This morning.
Cork city.
Livestock shenanigans at a cabinet meeting being held in Corcaigh – a temporary re-location that must have seemed like a good idea at some point.
That’ll learn them.

Ah here.
i have no dog in this fight. varadkar is a selfish egotistical incompetent willy, and the farmers are a rotten bunch too. they get serious leeway and deals over the years and still constantly bleat on about being mistreated. they should be keepin shtum anyway, theyre emissions etc. are incredibly harmful to the environment and the only reason the gov. isnt clamping down on them is coz they provide so much of our exported goods. yet still fuppin complaining as always. fupp everyone involved in this story.
“Vegan”? Sure didn’t he say he enjoys a “Hereford steak”, no doubt in the company of a man holding two pints.
Imagine walking in to your local butchers and asking for a “Hereford steak”
They sell them in lidl.
I’m not actually sure what your point is.
I’m not gonna lie. This feud between you and eoin is what keeps me going between GoT episodes.
There’s no feud. He just ignores everything and anything which punctures his narrative.
Oh it’s a feud. Don’t ruin this for me. PLEASE
Oh go on then
I’ll get me feudin’ shoes
Somehow I don’t think Leo drops inta the Lidl on his way home from work
Do you Row?
if it helps, i once saw pat kenny in lidl – buying a lot of kitchen roll
You have the best stories
thanks, millz
if it wasn’t for that pesky bertie, I could tell you more
I once saw the taxi driver from Fair City in LIDL glasnevin.
When I left I found myself looking for his taxi in the car park…that’s how thick I am.
All the time. Cheap as chips that place is.,
should’ve murdered that bull in broad daylight to really get their point across /s
Where’s the hedgrows ya caretakers of the countryside ya, oh no, you’ve gone and ripped them out.

Oi, are yis @Broadsheet using some kinda Pinterest plugin of late!??!? Seeing lotta suggestive PinIt pins floating about
The pus on Leo
He’ll not be happy with that look
At least The Muppets were effective in what they did. As for FG?
To hell with the farmers . What do the profits they get from exporting meat mean to me or anyone else? They get what they want through moaning decade after decade. The kids aren’t buying the meat anymore and the farmers (by farmers I mean the corporate executives ,because they don’t get their hand dirty with farm work anymore ) are freaking out because the business dying in its arse. Its no one else’s problem but theirs, diversify like every other business or just die. We wont have to sub them anymore. its a win /win. The beef industry is horrible on multiple levels, they don’t hire local because they wont pay a decent wage so they get special permission from the DJEI to get hundreds of Brazilian slaughtermen and deboners who have absolutely zero experience and pay them 21K a year if they even get that. And you know the wages will be paid back into the greedy landlord side business of the industrial famers partners. If you buy beef you are supporting a despicable business’. No other business in this country can hire and profit off indentured servants for there business for 18-21k a year , so what makes farmers so special? Its unsustainable, How long does public money have to go to these wealthy (you can barely call them) farmers to continue their cushy lifestyles? Making profits from the hard work of modern economic slaves? All that environmental destruction. for what? a steak? Give me a break.
Relax and pull that Spandex gusset down out of your crotch, you precious little flower.
The dirtiest industry in Ireland.
Choice between still and sparkling Ballygowan each. And 5 or so pens each. Posh phekers. And Lord Ross already filling out his mileage expenses. Capone already has hers done.
Great headline!
The reality is that the output from the farming sectors earns the foreign currency that
pays off the bank debt, and if the sector goes bang, so does the country, its not Intel
or Coca Coala that keeps us afloat, they don’t pay hardly anything in TAX
No wonder Leo had a long face, it will get a lot longer after the end of May
Mad as it seems, you are partially correct*.
We own very little as a nation and most of us work for offshore entities. Our goal is to service our IMF commitments.
The agri business is being consolidated with a minimum of large farms to supply Glanbia or Kerry Group, there is no alternative.
Many small farmers are operating in debt and waves of them are pinched out with each price hiccup, price hiccups dictated by the middle-man, it has nothing to do with the premium paid by the consumer nor the massive EU farm subsidies. It’s subtle, but there is a system in place which directly contravenes anti-competitiveness legislation and may use EU directives as a cover.
The poor farmer needs to look for the Fianna Fáil snake in the grass, I’m not defending FG, but as a long time reader of the Farmer’s Journal I am aware of how sensationalism and simplistic reasoning easily clouds discussion.
(*The individual earnings from the multinationals also pay for the inflated rents and mortgages keeping the banks balanced).
