Such a handy guide from the pro-life campaign about your candidates for Dublin City Council.
Proud to be with the REDS who actively worked together for Repeal.

Legitimate political strategy?
Or something else entirely?
YOUR Broadsheet, YOUR choice.

Its good to know where people stand on issues. Legitimate.
Is he running? What is he now? A Senator?
Loveboats shooting themselves in the foot again!
I thought it said “strangely” pro life.
Which would probably be a better description.
Legitimate but hardly relevant.
If a candidate is pro-abortion but also wants to support the building of a 20-story tower next door to me that’s hardly useful.
I don’t know what powers in relation to the provision of abortion services local councilors could exercise – possibly a planning issue but unlikely.
I get the feeling even most of the candidates don’t fully understand what powers councilors have.

pro choice
How does someone’s views on abortion matter when they’re running for the council?
Pro-life candidate: “Hey, I’m running for the council, vote for me.”
Pro-choice voter: “I don’t want you anywhere near my potholes.”
if I don’t trust someones logic on a human rights issue, I wouldn’t trust them with much else
The point that never got through in the great abortion debate was that both positions are valid. One position was preferred to the other by the electorate, but that doesn’t mean the losing position is not a valid one.
whatever you’re having yourself there jonikel
there I go pro choice again,
just can’t stop myself
But perhaps they don’t represent the values I would like in my chosen elected representative. For some, it was and still is an important issue. It will factor into my decision though I doubt it will be only reason i vote for any given candidate.
That was a reply to your earlier comment @jonickal
Man made climate change is real. Take it from me.
Hahahahahah….good one there eh….lgbt
Well, if I knew someone was anti equal marriage I would spoil my vote before they would get it. That they would, if they could, force their opinions on me is a stretch too far.
Well done. Spoiling your vote makes it easier for them to get elected.
Sound on the notional question
…well eYawn…Eamonn Clancy would have more chance of getting a vote from me than you would…which is absolutely no chance…
