ITV’s CEO confirmed the news in a statement on Wednesday morning, following widespread calls to bring the programme off the air permanently rather than temporarily.

Carolyn McCall said: “Given the gravity of recent events we have decided to end production of The Jeremy Kyle Show.”

And all those sporting people in track suits I see when I go to the shopping centre. What will fill the void for them?

    Such caring, such corporate responsibility
    Jeremy Kyle ratings, 1m
    Love Island ratings, 4m
Jeremy Kyle suicides, 1 (a complete uggo)
Love Island suicides, 2 (and they were both pretty)
    Which one was cancelled?
    ITV, you’re the best!

They’ll continue with the format, but just under another name. TV bosses know this stuff has an eager target audience – they’re not going to drop it and run. Look at Noel Edmonds after that guy was killed on his show – the show was axed but the content carried on under a different guise.

So the standard is that “anything goes” until it results in a death? This kind of trash should never be on TV or anywhere else.
