Ireland has done a good job in recent years in changing attitudes among the Irish people to mental health issues and encouraging them to be more open about issues they may be having…but whats the point if when people decide that they may need some help there is none available to them.

You only have to look at the record of ignoring Wexford. Only for local people trying to do something about suicide – Wexford Marine Watch is a good example, and the local poster campaigns of ‘Ask’ – there would be a lot more sad families.
Harney instigated the HSE you could say, and her reward for the growth of the cancer that is the HSE’ clerical and managerial overstaffing, is a nice board membership in Limerick.
Let’s see how the new head honcho tackles the monster.

“due to the high referral numbers”

or, in other words, due to the failure to properly resource the service to meet the level of need

Root Cause Analysis: Irish voters consistently electing inept, incompetent, inexperienced political chancers. It’s a pretty simple solution. Cause; Effect. Irish people need to be accountable for the bufoons they elect. Stop electing buffoons who consistently fail to do anything about it. They are there because they are put there by voters.. no one else.. Stop complaining with one hand and voting for it with the other. Simple

What we’ve got here is a failure to communicate.
Incompetent staff that got the job through cronyism and nepotism
