It appears to be increasingly acceptable for the print media to lead with the most unflattering picture they can find when spinning against a subject. A picture of politician covered in brontosaurus jizz is newsworthy, the set of three carefully chosen portraits of TM is not.
I suppose it feeds into the confirmation bias of their core readership.
Vanessa the Holy Face of Frilly Keane
Whereas Jamie Oliver’s are staged portraits
‘wonder how that happened

now I’m no fan of the torygraph but the chosen subject is hardly, what you’d call, photogenic
Janet, I ate my avatar
agree, makes paper look low
Ben Redmond
The Torygraph is no friend of good taste.
The Old Boy
As has been pointed out before, if you take a rapid series of photographs of anyone making a speech, a good proportion of them will make the subject look like they have Bell’s palsy.
PS – Thanks for the information on TV detector vans last Friday, Mickey. It was very interesting.

I am a rich seam of utterly useless information, it must be said.

Like a beacon in a bog. Brilliant but useless.

Ouch.
Harsh, but fair.

I missed that nugget…care to share?
Andyourpointiswhatexactly?
Not meant harshly. Just another way of saying it, I guess.
This case is crazy. Yer one Bailey should be booted out of FG for this.

In politics there are swings and roundabouts – and unforeseen bumps.

sure is embarrassing & for whatever reason (unexpectedly) its the women who give as good as they get with ridiculous uncouth shenanigans like this
regarding the incident itself…rumour has it that she pulled a “do you know who I am” and it escalated, another example of a arrogant dynastic political family
I fear she’ll get something out of it but I wish The Dean well in the case
Pip
Greedy brass neck is such a hideous look.
Otis Blue
I respectfully disagree.
Ridicule is by far the best sanction.
Bertie Theodore Alphege Blenkinsop
Great… I’m singing Adam Ant for the day now

The party that purports to support Irish business couldn’t possibly stand behind a TD, who is actively contributing to the rising insurance costs that appear to be the biggest issue for a lot of businesses at the moment, by bringing a spurious claim against an Irish company. And in the course of that claim, admits that she, a woman in her forties, can’t be allowed on a swing unsupervised without a risk of seriously injuring herself and yet expects to be seen as responsible enough to be allowed to run the country.
jibjob
TD sues as a swing was ‘unsupervised’. TD would have been around 40 years old at the time, not 4. Does she need supervision in everything that she does?

every instagram hun in Dublin has gotten a photo on this swing at some point over the past 5-10 years, the lack of litigation is telling

…personally, while the Times news is sad, I miss Eoin already…
Which justice minister between 2002-2019 thought it was a good idea to grant this guy a passport?
Johnny
Morning Eoin,he was legally entitled to one as far as I know, perhaps POTUS will drop him off at Shannon:)
But looks like he’s not getting ANY passports for now,I’d expect him renounce his US Citizenship and move to be or get deported to Ireland.

FG Ministers to request instructions on how to use hand rails, toilet seats, pens etc. etc in the Dail. After all, there is some difficulty with Swing Swongs. https://www.independent.ie/irish-news/politics/td-swing-case-undermines-fg-compensation-reforms-maria-bailey-criticised-by-former-justice-minister-38136268.html
