Shameless Express suggesting it knows the outcome of today’s European Parliament elections in the UK. There was no exit poll, so we’ll all have to wait until tomorrow afternoon to find out who has won the 73 seats across the UK.

There was an opinion poll before the polls opened today at 7am, and the Express is basing its headlines on that *opinion poll*

    https://www.politicshome.com/news/uk/foreign-affairs/brexit/news/104102/tories-and-labour-set-eu-elections-disaster-brexit-party

The *opinion poll* before the polling took place might turn out to be accurate, but it might not.

From 7am – 10pm we have leverage. After 10pm, it’ll be kinda like that guy/gal who just wanted to shag you and afterwards doesn’t want to know. Let’s use that leverage wisely, we’ll be waiting a long time to have it again.

Imagine someone just wanting to shag you.. no questions and no bothering you afterwards.. what do I have to do again..?

… make an appointment with your GP? Apparently, Penicillin is for the man who has everything…

you don’t pay them for the sex, you pay them to go away after the sex.

        what are they?

Not a complaint, just a question, how come no Irish Daily Star Front page?
I only ask because I think they said on the radio that it had a good pic on it.

    Also, #anyonebutblushirts

Looks fairly bland, the killing of the two young men in Dublin this week and online threats, #2 story is the Lucan child murder trial and compared to last Friday’s “15 most brutal torture methods” is fairly tame.

I hear rumors that these to gents were encroaching on another dealer’s turf, he told them to fupp off. The two then called round to his and busted up his car and threw a girl from that house around like a rag doll… There is video

If true they are not the smartest guys

        1. ReproBertie

” threw a girl from that house around like a rag doll”
This surely can’t be true given one posted “you were a gent” in a tribute to the other just before being murdered.

Dav I know I always slag you cause you’re obsessed with saying “blushirts” but may be glad to know I will not be voting FFG today.

Times Ireland reports AirBnB wants to delay the intro of new restrictions on 1 July. They’ve had 9 months to prepare. They’re sucking up to 3,000 homes off the traditional housing market in Dublin. Fupp off AirBnB, time’s up, basic shelter for citizens trumps tourism.

    1. MaryLou's ArmaLite

AirBnB will be a big loss to those looking for something other than an overpriced hotel.

            grand
I’ll pass that onto my eldest fella who works at the coffee shop around the corner from their office. I’m sure he’d agree that the success of their business model far outweighs his desire & hope to ever own a home in the city he was born & grew up in.
No doubt when he’s 30 odd he’ll be thankful that he at least has some co-living to look forwards to for his prospective family

The Dublin hotel where FG TD Maria Bailey was horribly disfigured and traumatised by the lethal unsupervised swing, did in fact give her a cheque for a paltry €600 for her trouble, but she returned it. Too right, Maria, don’t be a fool, hold out for up to €60,000, don’t let them away with it.

    The Herald reports

“The hotel where Maria Bailey fell off a swing wanted to pay for her medical treatment, but the TD declined the offer. In court papers, lawyers for the Fine Gael politician revealed she returned a €600 cheque given to her by the Dean Hotel in Dublin. Despite rejecting the offer, a claim for hospital and dental costs has been included in the Dun Laoghaire TD’s personal injuries action against the hotel.”

    1. Spaghetti Hoop

Loser pays legal costs. She’ll lose, and then regret not taking the €600. The Dean will then install a sign ‘TDs must be supervised at all times’ which everyone will instagram.

      1. ReproBertie

Can’t every swing be a sex swing?

Now the question of what she had in her hands is a lot more interesting.

Fairly outrageous news management in Ireland’s Juarez yesterday.

Using the cover of their “Operation Stratus” which is supposed to be aimed at disrupting and stopping two organised crime groups in Drogheda from continuing their drug-led operations, Gardai arrested 18 people. 16 of the 18 were arrested on “outstanding warrants”, no further info given by the Garda Press Office, the warrants may have been outstanding for some time and may have been for petty offences. Two arrested were for other undisclosed crimes.

The Gardai also seized seven vehicles because excise duty hadn’t been paid (s41 of 1994 Road Traffic Act).

How much drugs were seized? Zero. How much proceeds of crime were seized (vehicles, cash, watches, real estate)? Zero. How many firearms were seized? Zero. How many arrests related to drug trafficking, drug dealing, attempted murder, fire bombings, assaults? We don’t know because the Gardai aren’t saying but “outstanding warrants” stored up for a day of action suggests the offences for which the arrests yesterday were effected weren’t that serious.

But, you know, on the eve of an election, it looks good for the cameras. Remember today, vote FG, the party of law and order, or at least that’s the optics on the day before an election.

  8. Mickey Twopints

We have the customary pictures of the Garda carrying a ballot box. The polling stations have been open for over two hours already, and I’ve yet to see a picture of the two nuns.

    Where are they???

    1. Spaghetti Hoop

Maybe one day we’ll see two nuns on their wedding day, one carrying a ballot box to the islands and t’other breastfeeding their newborn (in PUBLIC).
