Enter Landed Man

at

This afternoon.

Slane Castle, County Meath

Hippy squire Lord Henry Mountcharles (centre) surveys his estate ahead of the Metallica concert with MCD event co-ordinator Eamon Fox (left) and Chief Superintendent Fergus Healy.

Up to 75,000 ‘headbanging revellers’ are expected on Saturday, June 8.

Even some ladypersons.

Probably with the band but still.

Until I can afford to helicopter in and out of the place, I’ll never ever go to slane again.

The site is grand but the absolute waking nightmare of getting out of the place in less than 4 hours is just too much stress

I went once ten years ago, never again. Bucketing rain, an hour long queue for pints, then some hoor of a woman fell on the pints and tried to fight me over it. Left before Oasis were on, only wanted the support acts anyway, then took solace in a village pub. The crowd were awful too, there were massive punch-ups and a fella I met later said there were people smoking heroin near him

He ain’t landed anymore, the whole kit and kaboodle was sold to Brown Forman a few years ago, he’s merely a hippy squire renter now.

They just bought his Slane Whiskey distillery and brand, I thought, not the kaboodle that is the Slane Castle estate?

Ahhh!!! I just saw them recently (2008) supported by Tenacious D and they were brilliant.

Pity Slayer never got big enough to headline a show of that size: Slayer- Slane would satisfy the punster within.

Similarly, I was so disappointed Kompany didn’t go to Wolves.
