This morning.

Dublin, location unspecified,

A Volkswagen GTI is seized -along with other items – by the The Criminal Assets Bureau from the home of a ‘well-known Dublin criminal with links to the Hutch crime gang’.

Decent runabout, in fairness.

There was once a ‘well-known Dublin criminal’ that lived not far from my home estate and he drove a much better class of jammer than THAT!

Ah gwan BS, throw up Mago’s (he was 100% jigsaw identified in RTE’s reporting) missus’s “rolex”. Another watch with the incorrect date. I’m sure all these “rolex” watches are not fake at all, at all.

Also, well done the CAB, seizing €20k of goods.

And any update on your investigation into this state contract which made *hundreds of millions of euros* for the winning bidder. The last update from justice minister Charlie Flanagan last December 2018 said “In March 2011, the Commissioner tasked CAB with examining the report with a view to identifying any criminal offences that may require investigation by An Garda Síochána. I am informed that the examination of this matter is continuing and a final report has not yet been completed. A number of interim reports have been provided to the Garda Commissioner.

With regard to the progress of the corruption investigations, enquiries have been requested in a number of other jurisdictions, the outcome of which is still awaited at this time.”

As the saying goes, look after the hundreds of millions, and the €20k and alleged “rolex” s will look after themselves!

Thanks Bodger. As to whether it’s fake or not, bear in mind Mago has spent significant time recently in China, the home of counterfeitism, and whatever about the time, the watch was seized today (11 June) and the date is showing as “7”. Maybe CAB can try to get the right time and date up on future seizures before they photograph them for Messrs Williams/Reynolds, because it’s beginning to look a lot like they’re seizing worthless baubles and passing them off to try to convince us they’re doing their job.

They’re still “doing their job” with enquiries eight years after they were handed the Moriarty Tribunal report.

        Wasters.

And remember children- crime doesn’t pay but sharp practice is very lucrative. Upon being called out, employ a barrister with a track record in legal gerrymandering.

Can I pick these up at a knock-down price at a Garda auction or do they go into “evidence”

Amazing how these CAB case details manage to leak like a sieve.. but every other case is ‘we can’t give more information as this is an ongoing case’
