How in the feck is public sector waste capitalism? Its capitalism that pays their massive salaries, pensions, sick days and holidays. The private sector worker is being fleeced so the HSE management & unionised employees can enjoy a higher standard of living.

Ah. Yes. I’ve seen that letter before.

My daughter was waiting 3 years to be seen for an initial appt. in Temple St. It’s embarrassing is what it is.

The jr doc who eventually saw us was mortified.

I posted below but without being nosy it musnt have been for some really important if you actually waited 3 years? And dont get me wrong, I think its nuts to have those type of waiting time…

No, it’s a good point, and you’re right. It was a non urgent dermatological issue, initially, which developed into a more serious one because of the wait time for an appointment. It emerged that she had a rather rare form of eczema in the end, which, while not serious, still requires careful treatment.

I don’t mind that we had a wait time, but I found three years to be excessive and inexcusable for any health service.

I dont know what the visit is for but if it is that critical you wouldnt wait 3 years and would gather some funds to go private.Obviously not the answer to fix this waiting list but at the same time …

Absolutely not but depending on the medical emergency here wouldnt you consider going private to get it sorted quicker? I would.

I would.I would advance that most of these is precisely because the waiting time is too long and some medical issues resolve themselves. Granted in that case people should inform they no longer need the appointment…
