This day 122 years ago – 19 June 1897 – Charles Boycott, from whom the verb ‘boycott’ is derived, died.
A land agent in Co. Mayo, he was known for issuing eviction orders to tenants unable to pay rent.
The Land League said locals should protest “by leaving him severely alone.” pic.twitter.com/BuykGj8G6q
