Can’t wait for charger’s justification of Boris the clown’s violent and abusive conduct towards his girlfriend over the weekend. Par for the course among his Tory chums, it would seem.
Ron
Ireland is in no position to be throwing stones considering the faeces show we continuously elect over here..
Charger Salmons
According to the police who called to the address there was no violent or abusive conduct and they left after a short time satisfied that it was merely a loud domestic argument.
One day when you grow up and leave your Mam and Dad’s home you might be lucky enough to meet someone willing/stupid enough to live with you despite the empty space between your ears.
Then you’ll understand that couples have loud domestic arguments occasionally.
Hopefully yours won’t be recorded because no-one likes to hear an adult whimper.
millie st murderlark
Yeah, I remember we all thought my neighbour was a nice man until we heard his ‘loud domestic disagreements’ with his wife. Her screams in the middle of the night and the bruises were just her overreacting, I’m sure.
But, as he was quick to reassure us, it was all a misunderstanding, and none of our business besides – it was a private matter, what happened in his own home in the middle of the night.
Papi
You live next door to Charger? You poor, poor thing.

Johnson’s family home was loud .He reported it himself. “Summon up all your strength, all your courage. Steel yourself for the screams and yank out the plug. And if they kick up a fuss, then get out the sledgehammer and strike a blow for literacy” ; – this was reference to getting his children off computer games/ tv. I know several family men who do plenty of roaring in the house. The wife/kids do their upmost to smother their laughter at his rant ;- it might be his hammer is missing. It’s a stark difference to domestic abuse.
Charger Salmons
You can always rely on a no-nonsense Sheila to cut to the chase …
Yep. She says it straight alright when she says ‘God forbid if Boris should ever become PM’
Charger Salmons
Except she says it’s media outlets such as the Guardian who are saying ” God forbid Boris should become PM and Brexit happen ” not her.
Either you’re being deliberately dishonest or you’re just plain thick.
Given the plummeting standards of higher-level education in this country I’m going for the latter.

But she’s anti some UK media. Like yourself she’ll pick something to suit the narrative. All the way to Australia to find someone to agree with you? Sounds pretty immature.

FF targets an additional 10 seats…
In other words, the party themselves can’t actually believe how stupid the Irish electorate are as they watched them in the local elections vote in massive numbers for the party that actually bankrupted the country.
The political scrotes big daw jaws actually dropped to the floor as they said “there is no way we could actually be seeing increases after everything we have done to the Irish people whilst in Government and whilst playing the role of opposition but supporting and propping up the current political faeces show.
Shame on the Irish electorate. The country can be fixed, but that requires the people to want it to be fixed and based on the current indications of the electorate, that’s not going to happen because it’s not possible to fix their stupidity.
Meanwhile the rest of Europe laughs at the poor Irish again
Internal notions and pollling actually has them targeting 14 seats
Ron
As I said, you can’t fix stupid, so unfortunately we just have to accept the incompetence of elected scrotes.
Tony
Ah Ron. You’re such a recalcitrant old misery guts. Never change.
Ron
you might be ok with accepting inept political scrotes running the country into the ground I’m not. But I’m in a minority it seems. Shame on your stupidity.
Qwerty123
Think about it, there is literally no other effective alternative to the current dreadful government. None. This is partly why the green vote increased imo. The way it is around here.
Calling people stupid is not the way forward. Might just join the 50+% who don’t vote next time, whats the point?
Rob_G
Well Ron – what are you going to do about it?
You could run for election yourself – but a better route to go down would be to choose the party you find the least distasteful/most likely to beat FF, and head down to a meeting. I’m sure that, whichever party you choose, they will be looking for activists to go knocking on doors, or putting up posters.
What do you say?
Ron
I probably find the Social Democrats the best of the rotton bunch.
At the last election, I gave a vote to Sinn Fein for the first time in my life. I despise Sinn Fein, but anything is better then the current faeces show that has dominated Irish politics for the last 80 years.
Very few ‘real’ independent candidates out there. Most are all cut from the same FF/FG cloth. Wolf in sheep’s clothing bla bla bla.
I genuunely can’t understand how the Irish electorate vote for the current FG/FF faeces show considering what their incompetence, ineptitude, deceitful antics have actually done to this country.
FG and FF can’t believe it either!
Rob_G
Well, if you want to have neither FF nor FG in govt, I’m not sure that would be possible. The best you could hope for is to pick one of SDs/SF/Lab/Greens, and knock on enough doors for them in the hope that they get in in enough numbers to have a real influence as junior partner in coalition with either FF/FG.
Greens have the momentum at the minute, maybe go with them.

Dear Tony Connelly,
As RTE’s Europe Editor you have a whole continent to cover so perhaps it might be useful to occasionally escape the confines of the Berlaymont in Brussels waiting for scraps from your EU minders.
For instance not far away in France the Jilets Jaunes have been protesting for 32 weeks.
In that time 11 people have been killed, 76 seriously injured, 2500 injured, 23 protestors have lost an eye, 5 have lost a hand and thousands have been arrested.
It’s not as though there isn’t plenty of disturbing footage to use. https://mobile.twitter.com/mhm368/status/1140166973130547201
I know it’s easier to luxuriate in the comfortable embrace of the generous EU hospitality waiting for the next press release to drop but why not do your job and get out there and report on some real news.
Yours,ever,
Charger.

Jebus, the state of the Times Ireland digital edition today, 8 articles in total and about the only article to meet the threshold of news is this syndicated story from Darragh McDonagh, who reports the Iona Institute spent €500,000 trying to convince us to vote “no” in last year’s abortion referendum.
As reported by the Sindo yesterday, the BAI, which is one of the most incompetent state agencies in Ireland in my opinion, wants to regulate internet usage in Ireland (and if you believe the Sindo yesterday, across Europe)
Get the fuppers before an Oireachtas committee and put some detailed questions to them and they will crumble.
There is one “€” in the entire 86-page document, that’s how tangible and thought-out it is.
What is harmful content? Who knows, but here are the half-baked musings
“How should harmful online content be defined in national legislation? Should the
following categories be considered as harmful content? Online platforms are already
required to remove content which it is a criminal offence under Irish and EU law to
disseminate, such as material containing incitement to violence or hatred, content
containing public provocation to commit a terrorist offence, offences concerning child
sexual abuse material or concerning racism and xenophobia. Are there other clearly
defined categories which should be considered? For example,
– Serious Cyberbullying of a child (i.e. content which is seriously threatening, seriously
intimidating, seriously harassing or seriously humiliating)
– Material which promotes self-harm or suicide
– Material designed to encourage prolonged nutritional deprivation that would have the
effect of exposing a person to risk of death or endangering health”

Does anyone know how the USA “cyber attacked” Iran last Thursday?
Are there back-door programs in the likes of Microsoft, Apple, Google and social media software which allow the USA at state-level to infect computers with malware?
Or, do certain websites contain malware which install software on your device which is under the control of the USA at state-level?
Or, were they just sending infected emails to Iranians, “Mohammed, you’ve just won $1m, click here!”?
Will anyone in our brave media be asking these questions?
The Iranians have apparently retaliated with their own cyber attack on the USA. There’s more detail about the Iranian attack. The BBC reports “They were using “destructive ‘wiper’ attacks”, he said, using tactics such as “spear phishing, password spraying and credential stuffing” in a bid to take control of entire networks.”
“spear phishing”? “the fraudulent practice of sending emails ostensibly from a known or trusted sender in order to induce targeted individuals to reveal confidential information”
“password spraying”? “an attack that attempts to access a large number of accounts (usernames) with a few commonly used passwords”
“credential stuffing”? “stolen account credentials typically consisting of lists of usernames and/or email addresses and the corresponding passwords (often from a data breach) are used to gain unauthorized access to user accounts”

Front page of the Irish Indo lead with their headline: House prices fall €1000 a month as new homes built…
Mark Keenan, the wannabe Gerstein of Irish journalism. how these people get away with calling themselves journalists is the real crime.
Meanwhile those house prices falling a 1000 a month still stand at almost a half a million euro for a 3 bed semi in Dublin.. Great news for young people paying €2,190 a month average rents and expected to come up with between 45 and 50k deposit to be considered for one..
All this headline is missing is the little small print with *featured advertisement.. What an absolute rag of a publication. it’s like they take blank broadsheet pages, hang them on a wall and they stand there throwing tins of alphabet soup at the blank pages and the office intern types whatever letters stick.
