National Bike Week poster

This week is National Bike Week.

In addition, Dublin is hosting the Velo-City Conference – the European Cyclists’ Federation (ECF) annual global cycling summit – having last hosted it in 2005.

How’s that going?

Oh.

Meanwhile…

Yikes.

      * through the bike-to-work scheme you can get up to 52% off the price of a bike and related gear (including helmets, locks, etc.)

The bike to work scheme is exploited by fatsos to get cheap bikes for their kids, while they continue to drive to work.

I’ve never heard that? It’s certainly used by leisure cyclists to buy expensive carbon bikes that they probably don’t commute on, but TBH it’s not a major issue. Probably better in the long run to have middle-aged men out cycling than playing golf.

Thanks Cian, that’s genuinely helpful. I will be having a word with my bike servicing place whose invoice I was citing when I first raised bike repairs on BS; I’ll let you know what they say.
