Do you have want this to turn into thejounal.ie? Because that’s what you’ll get by bookending an article with a tweet of that nature.
David Llewellyn is the Mattress Mick of apple producers, except Mattress Mick is likeable, isn’t bigoted and doesn’t incite hatred towards any section of society

While I agree it is a ridiculous and bigoted tweet, I disagree that by including it, the ‘Sheet is turning into the Journal. Having it there shows another aspect, including one that implies you should lie down and submit to authority.

My local radio station, KFM, has covered Mr Reid’s story from the beginning, having many of the various actors on the phone or in studio. One aspect that is highlighted is the use of CPOs for the gain of commercial companies. Not the fight Mr Reid is taking, but a worthy one as well if any civil liberties organisation was to get involved.

Missed the documentary last evening, but will catch it on Player. I would not normally go to the cinema for a documentary, but I may when this is released to the cinemas in October

A quick search through twitter shows a variety of tweets that back up your notion, but including DL’s tweet is purposely giving this guy a mic on top of his soapbox and therefore, the rest of the garbage he types. It has been a good while since I regularly read BS but if this is the level of journalism it’s spitting it, it could be another while yet.

Ahh.. David the cider producer who uses his personal account as his company account too and was staunchly against repealing the 8th.

I was looking forward to this and watched it last night; it was an hour and a half of a man quietly working on his farm with some bits about the IDA trying to force him off it. Wasn’t overly impressed.

Watched it last night. Awesome bit of film making. Thomas Reid has more integrity in his little finger than all the politicians and government quangos combined. The IDA acted as nothing more than bag men for Intel.

Another example of individual rights being prioritized over the common good. There is nothing intrinsically bad about the expansion of Intel. Its a good employer and has brought significant wealth to Leixlip and beyond. The IDA were definitely over-zealous here but their intentions were solely on helping Intel investment to guarantee existing jobs and create some more.

You don’t get it. Anyone who creates jobs in Ireland is bad. Anyone who supports employment is corrupt. Anyone being productive is obviously right wing, etc., etc., etc. The common good? That’s BS if it directly affects me. Also known as NIMBYism.

A good watch overall. I think the slow pace and longueurs suited the story and emphasised Thomas’s rootedness and obsession. So much is left unsaid and you’re left to fill in the many blanks. His sense of ‘dislocation’ was interesting and I liked the scene with him in Tesco watching his own story on the TV displays.

Nice to see the underdog win once in a while.

I missed it last night and I think J Dizzle is right
I think it has been in the Cinema already
Just watched it on the RTE Player and it is very good

Went to see it in the IFI. Thought it was at least 30 mins too long. So many repetitive shots of gates and dripping water etc around the farm. I wanted to leave after 30 mins but me missus persuaded me to stay. Painful.
