Minister for Finance Paschal Donohoe with the UK’s Chancellor of the Exchequer Sajid Javid in Downing Street last night

Last night.

11, Downing Street, London

“If the United Kingdom became a third country, it would have a fundamental effect on the nature of the economic relationship between the United Kingdom and Ireland because obviously, they would be outside the single market, they would be outside the customs unions and they would be treated like other countries that are outside of the European Union from a trading point of view. Were that to happen – which it would in the event of a no-deal Brexit – it would fundamentally change the relationship that is there.”

The opening paragraph from that Express article you linked: “[An Taoiseach] had previously said the [Sasamach] deadline could only be extended only if the UK first holds a general election. But in a revealing interview with the i newspaper in Belfast, the Taoiseach set out three ways a no deal [Sasamach] could be avoided: a [Sasamach] deal being ratified by the House of Commons; revoking Article 50, or a [Sasamach] extension.”

This is exactly the same situation as when the EU granted the extension to October 31st. There is nothing new in this. Nothing has changed.

One condition of the extension was that there would be no negotiation of the WA during the extension period so Bojo’s cabinet jumping up and down throwing tantrums about the EU refusing to negotiate may play well to the uneducated UK leaver but those who have been paying attention know it’s all for show.

One of these men is from a poor hating, national asset stripping, health service destroying, staunchly conservative party. The other is Sajid Javid!

Nothing will change between the UK and Ireland if we leave the EU too.

Remember, we originally voted not to join the EU, Pascal. But you and your fellow travelers on the globalisation train refused to listen to the people you work for.

EU is done for Pascal. Time to go,

Pascal stating the obvious. He could have done that from his iPhone from any location at any time over the past two years. It would be more educational to get a transcript of his full meeting.
