My Right To Bear Arms

They (above) found each other.

But where can a man find stubbly, chunky love in this town?

FluffyBiscuits writes;

Men are visual creatures when it comes to attraction, personality comes a close second and while still important brings me to a point on myself. I am a large chunky gay guy, which there in itself is not that rare.

However, I am into the same type of guy as me, large stocky types.

Hitting the dating scene recently I know a lot of similar lads built like me and Im on a few apps but its rare I find stocky lads built like myself who like other big guys…hence why I go to the UK a lot….

I have dated skinny guys to see but they do absolutely nothing for me physically. Anyone else out there find a similar issue in terms of dating?

Anyone?

Imagine if I wrote the following, what would people honestly think?:

“Men are visual creatures when it comes to attraction, personality comes a close second and while still important brings me to a point on myself. I am a normal size straight guy, which there in itself is not that rare.

However, I am into the same type of woman as me, normal size types.

Hitting the dating scene recently I know a lot of similar ladies built like me and Im on a few apps but its rare I find normal size ladies built like myself who like other normal size guys…hence why I go to the UK a lot…. (WTF)???

I have dated fat girls to see but they do absolutely nothing for me physically. Anyone else out there find a similar issue in terms of dating?”

You can’t eliminate stereotypes by pretending they don’t exist.

You’re pretending to live in a world in which fat people have it as easy as skinny people on the dating scene when it’s not the case. The fact is we don’t live in a lovely jubbly perfect world where everyone is treated equally. That’s why some things are ok to say and others are not, to restore the balance that should be there.

You need to find out what the stereotype is, and allow material to be published which challenge it so that people are better educated to know there’s two sides to any preference.

Your comment is the caveman one which we’ve all seen before. So I’d yawn when I read it. I’d also ask what the hell you mean by “Normal”.

‘Normal’ can change depending on country, age, even occupation. It’s meaningless in isolation without some kind of context.

Also.. “Take it easy”? Just because I don’t agree with the sentiment of the post is it? Have you been to the bottom half of the internet before? People write posts to hear alternative ideas. If s/he wants a string of + 1s “You’re great” for thinking the obvious s/he can run home to mother.. Mary.. :-)

However facile you think Qwerty’s comment is, he has hit on an important point about how young men feel pressure to be bigger and more muscular. Fluffy’s dismissal of skinny guys is not really any better then Qwerty’s dismissal of bigger laddies, whether you see it or not.

Well if we’re doing this… Michelle Pfeiffer 1989 vintage.
    Thanks.

Dunno Fluffs- there is a definite push back against the skinny look these days. A friend who into twinks is complaining that they are all stuffing their faces and wanting to be bears. The same is happening with straight women where half the young ones want a big ass now.

    Growrl?

You have got to be kidding me- there are “bear” nights every few weeks in Dublin and Nealon’s is practically a bear bar at this stage. One of the most over-catered to sub cultures of the gay scene!

    1. some old quare

over-catered hmmm – do you want chips with that?

Bears- bringing back the good old fashioned dinner dance eh?

      Only messing Fluffs.

Ive done the bear scene in Dublin on all the nights. Was not great! Done Daddi and Dublin Bears stuff…its fun but its the same faces etc.

Im not going to apologise for what Im attracted to. Being a chunky fellow myself I know there are guys not into me, thats a fair enough position…

…don’t click Fluffy…this guy has a lot of previous when it comes to infiltrating this site with dodgy links…
