Hunting A Nazi Barrow Boy

at

Real Nazi or provocateur?

Further to Hitlerian shenanigans at Google’s Dublin HQ last weekend.

Whose side was he on?

Via Gearóid Murphy:

A Hitler salute was given ostensibly on the Nationalist side. But was it actually a Nazi, or an agent provocateur plant put there to discredit the growing anti-censorship Nationalist movement in Ireland?

I go through what happened that day and hopefully make a reasonable and convincing case for the latter. Let me know what you think….

Yes- let’s not attack people- unless non white and preferably jailed in a hotel somewhere.

      1. GiggidyGoo

Didnt Michéal Martin’s (him the leader of the Republican Party) grandfather serve in the British army?. Is he therefore fit to be parading himself around as a Republican?
Actually, didn’t James Connolly also serve in the British army? Take his name off the Station?
John Esmonde also. And he served as an MP, and then served as a FG TD.
        Blighters eh?

        1. Daisy Chainsaw

I thik you’ll find they served at a time when they were British subjects and there wasn’t an Irish army to serve in.

          1. GiggidyGoo

True Republicans then? And there is the odd discussion about SF northern Ireland MPs not taking their seats in Parliament. But sure it’s the only Parliament they have isn’t it?
But they don’t take those seats, and don’t serve the British.

          2. GiggidyGoo

Well, you did try to pull me up on the British Army list. But, yes, they weren’t associated with the far right (that we know of anyway). But the original comment by emily that I replied to was about sending a former member the british army back to blighty.

        2. some old unicorn

If after taking the Queen’s shilling you are running around attempting to exploit the misfortune of asylum seekers- don’t be surprised if most other people question your self-proclaimed ‘patriotism’.

    1. Big Mak

I read that as ‘Hurling high and low’.
A desperate attempt to score a point within the GAA Community.

      I need glasses.

  1. GiggidyGoo

At least someone agrees with.my view about what I believe was a plant. A week late, but the video above strengthens my belief.

    1. ReproBertie

Must be a great relief to have others claim the Nazi salute guy may have been a plant. Totally excuses all the racist bile spouted by the crowd he’s photographed with.

      1. GiggidyGoo

Yada yada Repro. I called it a week ago. This is basically back up.

Give a few examples if this racist bile.

          1. GiggidyGoo

Theirs in the first instance and if you can find an example of me uttering racist bile, please fell free to quote it word for word with a link.
            That would be clarification.

          1. Termagant

You know I might be wrong but I do seem to remember Hazel being very vocal about her migrant chinese background when she was running for office in the first place

A lot of “tiger momma” jokes and that sort of thing

          2. millie vanilly strikes again

I dunno. Is it not a bit like how we Irish as a nation love to slag ourselves off and think it’s great and hilarious etc., but tend not to be overly find of others doing the same thing? It’s the very definition of an inside joke.

          3. ReproBertie

I just knew you’d be confused about what was wrong with referring to someone born in Ireland as Chinese and a migrant.

          4. Termagant

Yeah millie but at the same time if you spouted off about how micks are drunkards who beat their wives, and then, say, a yank joined in, would you accuse them of racism? I’m not sure you would.

Bertie the election is the only time Hazel’s had any major visibility. And while in that window of visibility the main identifying trait she ascribed to herself was that she was of a migrant Chinese background. As such I don’t think you can blame yer man if he thinks “Hazel Chu” and the first terms he associates are “migrant” and “Chinese”.

          5. GiggidyGoo

But, Repro – Hazel Chu is an Irish-born Chinese politician. So that’s your ‘Chinese’ aspect gone. ( Yes, and the Green Party also describe her as an Irish-born Chinese politician). So (mistakenly) calling her a migrant is racist bile? Possibly bordering on it.
But I did ask for examples (plural) as you wrote ‘spouted by the crowd’ and you come up with a questionable one, given that half of what you’re saying is racist (you wrote ‘Chinese and a Migrant) is being said by her own party.
So any more examples of ‘spouted by the crowd’

      2. topsy

Juggle it about whatever way you wish, it’s obviously was a set up. Just change the narrative to suit yourself.

    2. Daisy Chainsaw

Naziboy’s mate with his eyes blacked out in the picture was flinging the aul seig heil around too and he’s not a plant… a vegetable, but not a plant.

      1. GiggidyGoo

And the heights of your debating prowess are?…. Empty. Not even empty rhetoric, but just plain empty.
        Toddle along lad.

  2. Kevin Higgins

Gosh. Really looking forward to this chap’s analysis of the grassy knoll footage. I’ve seen a well known Dolphin do this, wait till a camera is pointing at him and the go into his act. Deeply suspicious.

  3. some old unicorn

There s no bloody way a complete stranger just walked up and joined that crowd half a hour before the main protest arrived because they are paranoid of journalists. So- instead of blanket denials, the people he was in the pictured company of should tell the truth because at this point, guilt by association trumps any and all conspiracy theories.

Who did he say he was and what did he talk about to each one pictured?

If Gemtrails and co are serious abut identification then lets start there.

    1. GiggidyGoo

I suggest you look at the video in its entirety . Your ‘guilty by association” may lead you up a different path.

      1. some old unicorn

        No it doesn’t- whatsoever.

As below- anyone who spoke to Naziboyo should speak out- especially the Gemtrails goon who’s job appears to be to do what?

Gearóid reminds me of the ex btw- a redhead from Cavan who always had a hand in the pocket- mine not his.

        1. GiggidyGoo

soq – tell me. If there were photographs of the unicorn side giving Nazi salutes, what would your opinion of the unicorn side then? Serious question.

    2. McVitty

Why not watch the video? Open your mind to possibilities. This man was not known to the group. He does not appear to have spoken to anyone while he was there. It was clearly a day of counter protest so the more the merrier (i.e. transience). He said that an effort has been made on reddit and twitter to identify this man.

The concept of guilt by association is rather dystopian…everyone deserves a chance to explain their side of the story. With respect, shame on you. On top of that, you are clearly only interested in things that serve “your” truth.

        1. f_lawless

if you think those photos you linked to are evidence of “Nazi boy” conversing with anyone then all I can say is your observational can’t be very sharp or that you’re indulging in projection. Photo 1 – he’s facing the back of Croft’s head. Photo 2 – neither of the two are looking at each other; Nazi boy is nearer to the camera, so second person is not holding their iPad at an angle for Nazi boy to look at

          1. some old unicorn

I cannot be bothered running though twenty videos to prove a point to someone who doesn’t want to know.

There is photographic evidence of him standing beside the mob HALF AN HOUR before the salute- do you honestly think he stood there and said absolutely nothing to a bunch of paranoid conspiracy nuts?

He was known to them, otherwise he would have been kicked off that street long before the parade arrived.

          2. Daisy Chainsaw

He was hanging out in Gemmaroids’ territory and nobody seemed to eye him with suspicion or want him to leave them… Why would a bunch of paranoid nutjobs accept a plant into their numbers and let him mingle freely for so long? Obvious answer is he’s not a plant and they know him, he’s one of theirs. Cui Bono etc.

          3. Bodger

Why are the right wing guys trying to find out the guy’s identity and expose him? If he was one of theirs, wouldn’t they just shut up?

          4. B9Com From No

It’s purely reactive. Let’s say for sake of argument they were outflanked here by people from the other side, at least one of whom posted in this thread. (Disappointing you didn’t let my posts calling out that character stand B but anyway). Now they’ve got to try and re-own the narrative. Face it- as a lad says below the facts show that someone came up and did a Nazi salute beside them and they did not even bat an eyelid. That’s what I mean – to create fake news.
Create a new story now about the identity of one of the saluters? Hope that becomes the “real” story. Don’t fall for it Bodger. It’s the old bad people on many sides trope.

          1. some old unicorn

Om fairness- the quay side of Capel Street can be a bit ‘is that a gun in your pocket?’ these days.

Rumor has it they even accept GBP- a bit like scaldy towers.

        1. GiggidyGoo

? That’s a poor attempt if its trying to suggest those two were engaging with each other. Neither were either looking at each other or speaking to each other. Still images taken out of context.

  4. bisted

    …so…I’m not allowed to use the ‘r’ word…or the ‘q’ word…you’d think I was using the ‘n’ word…ffs…

    1. GiggidyGoo

Of course, if you look at the actual video footage that has been up over the last few days, your whataboutery goes bight out the window. A still photograph doesn’t give the full picture.
Are you saying that those stills signify that they were giving Nazi salutes? That still images like those prove that they were giving Nazi salutes?

  5. Scundered

Did everyone completely miss the point here that he’s calling Google Nazis by the mocking stance? And therefore obviously not supporting Nazis.

    1. millie vanilly strikes again

Well it’s clearly not that obvious if everyone’s got their mickey in a twist about it.

Or, as my dad likes to say: If you have to explain the joke, then it’s not very funny to begin with.

          1. some old unicorn

I say we should all pray for strength and guidance Millie- mainly strength as we know rightly how to guide it- spit and shove- otherwise known as Newry Pride- 31st August- hotel rooms still available or- just take a chance and find a bed for the night.

I’m on a marketing commission now btw- http://prideinnewry.com/

          2. lemmy

Actually not bigotry salutes but without sin cast the first stone and his name was Jesus
Bigotry has always been a trait in certain circles

      1. Scundered

I can’t believe the majority of people would be that dumb to need the scenario explained to them, think it’s a case of people just choosing to spin it (desperately) politically instead of being honest.

  6. shayna

Gearóid is nearly as talkative as myself. The Nazi-saluting guy – he’s a disprupter. Cuí Bono?

  7. some old unicorn

The same south Dublin children of processionals who five years ago strutted around Stephens Green with their trousers hanging so far off their ass their anus was exposed are now- ‘alternative’ Right.

But you MUST believe- mainly because it upsets my big brother- also my parents.

    1. Fade Street Intellectual

er, surely some mistake on that hipster jeans assessment dude. you can get kitted out in ZARA…

  8. Fade Street Intellectual

Oh gawd. Here we go – let’s keep the hizzy fit going for another weekend – EP is coming…

  9. jeremy kyle

Thanks for the 40 min long clarification about that one guy throwing out seig heils wasn’t actually a nazi.

I didn’t go to this protest in the end but, again, thank you BS for highlighting it.

    1. some old unicorn

It’s like one of those ‘how to’ tech videos which clog up your search results- ten minutes long and say the exact same thing as two lines of text- the rest is some tool talking about himself.

  10. George

There were at least 3 people documented giving
The Nazi salute including the guy beside him whose eyes have been marked out. It is nonsense suggesting this guy was a plant.

  11. GiggidyGoo

Looks like some old unicorn thinks the comment section on this article is an advertising medium for an event in Newry. Is this Marketing at its finest? Or the real reason for ‘contributing’ to the comments?

      1. GiggidyGoo

I wouldn’t know. But obviously your marketing department is underfunded if you have to bring an advertisement for Newry pride into many posts here (which incidentally has nothing to do with the article above). I have heard that facebook and twitter are good marketing mediums – a lot more footfall than broadsheet.

          1. millie vanilly strikes again

Is that of any relevance, my dearest unicorn? Actual curiosity here, no snark.

          2. some old unicorn

Because he or she appears to be somewhat ignorant of the local parish- now in return sweetest darling- why do you ask?

  12. bells of shandon

Nazi boy was a plant to undermine and bring into disrepute the Free Speech advocates at the Barrow St Hq of the Global News manipulators.

  13. Donjo

Why is this bullpoo being given any credence at all? This nonsense about a ‘plant’ is just distracting from the actual issue – if someone at your protest starts throwing nazi salutes the obvious thing to do is ‘escort’ them away. His behavior was totally acceptable to the other morons around him.

    1. Sham Bob

Exactly. I hope soneone has taken a screenshot the comments under her videos? The veneer of ‘just concerned about immigration’ slips fairly fast. Also, wtf is broadsheet doing giving the hipster wing of her so-called ‘party’ a platform.

  14. Kdoc

Nobody appears to know Nazi Boy – which is a bit odd in this small country. I wonder was he one of the ‘visitors’ from an English far-right group?

    1. some old unicorn

Well he certainly wouldn’t have been the only English far right in attendance- that much is certain. And if that is the case, it smells of dirty tricks- but not by the main protest- you’d need to be a special kind of stupid to think that an action like that wouldn’t go blow back viral.

The irony of far right English nationalists standing under the tricolour should not go unnoticed but this crew do operate at an international level- the globalisation of nationalism as its called.

      1. Kdoc

“… the globalisation of nationalism as its called.”.
That’s funny. That outfit is always criticising what they call the global elite.

  15. GiggidyGoo

Hey Bodger – you were good enough to put up the video above. But a reference to a location in it which shows (as much as supposed proof of two of the google protestors doing so) a unicorner doing a gesture similar to a Nazi salute, you have deleted. Odd. Did he complain?

  16. John Gilmore

It’s so obvious that it’s a ridiculous stunt that’s backfired on the lefties

Amateur hour indeed. T v ey should do the decent thing now and admit it to save face.

      1. some old unicorn

My pussy is excited that I will be for the fist time hearing Honey Dijon tomorrow. Nearly as much as Newry Pride- but not quite.

  17. Eoin

Big supporter of Gemma. Asking the right questions for a change. Sticking in provocateurs shows a desperate fear from the powers that be. More power to Gemma and anyone who stands up for free speech and against globalism.

  18. andy moore

Well spoken rural sounding gent singing scrips for Kelly , Dowson & Croft who are in Pay of another well known figure who likes to play the commodity markets >>

  19. Owen C

So, when it came down to it, Broadsheet once again couldn’t resist its willingness to engage in far right conspiracy theories. A damn shame, but not surprising. Clearly the lessons from the Presidential election campaign weren’t learned. Difficult to claim ignorance of what its doing this time though.

  20. Ian-O

I’m trying to not engage with anything that relates to this sub interesting amoeba, O’Doherty (barring this post of course.)

Whether its her, that british soldier clown or whoever else, IGNORE and move on.

Stop giving her and ‘Gran Torino’ the fupping oxygen.

That’s all I have to say on this. Toodle pip!
