Mespil Road, Dublin 4 – the worst place for clamping in Dublin

You park there.

You Mespil with the best.

But the clamping calamity seems to happen all too often, especially on Mespil Road, Dublin – named in the report as the worst place for clamping in the city as 416 cars were clamped there between January and June.

Ranelagh isn’t far behind either, a new addition to the list. In the first half of this year, 320 cars have been clamped compared to just 35 during the same period last year. According to the report, the increase in clamping in the area was due to people parking on a clearway.

when there’s a match day in the aviva the clampers are out on Mespil Road straight away.

That stretch is clearly marked as coach parking from 19.00 – 07.00…if people botherd to look around and read the signage the penny might drop.

Yeah! Worst for clamping also reads worst for compliance!
I was clamped twice and put a hex on them once, as I was in the right (to no avail, obvs)

the problem on mespil rd is the signage and road markings are misleading. Ranelagh is a different story, it’s just people being stupid.

If you drive a mere 2km up this very same road, you can park all day along a clearway and not get clamped.. D12 vs D4.

Yikes, someone’s getting a bonus for hitting their quota.
