As for the launch itself at loss-making RTE, the Irish Times reports

“There are signs, however, of the financial squeeze that has afflicted the public service broadcaster in recent years. A year ago, RTÉ was promoting Taken Down, its own drama commission [which flagged and flopped in the ratings], but this year its flagship autumn drama – Dublin Murders – is a BBC commission that was announced in 2017, with RTÉ later coming on board as a co-production partner.”

Also, I see loss-making RTE has poached Keith Barry, a talent discovered at TV3. Much like the Daniel and Majella B&B show, which was also conceived at TV3. Both shows demonstrate how loss-making RTE is distorting the market. If the €495,000 mediocrity Tubridy was given the boot at RTE and knocked on TV3’s door, he’d be lucky to get €150-200,000.

I’d say you give a great hug V.

I’m treasurer of the Itty Bitty Committee and I’ve been reliably informed that I’m too bony for a proper cuddle.
