The Irish coat of arms appears on two countries’ coats of arms :)
Thant’s because Northern Ireland is hanging on the coattails of when we were a untied island, even if under British rule. I wonder how that coat of arms would change it a Border Poll and a second Scottish Independence Referendum took both territories out of the Union? Would it have 6 lions?
…Broadsheet has fortycoats…
Italy’s looks like it should be on a bottle of beer
So many lions everywhere… I’m glad that ours is a little more original.
I have always liked the simplicity of the Irish coat of arms, and proud of the fact that it is one of the very few (I am not sure if the only one) that is based on an expression of art. Too many are about aggression.
Sweden = Leinster.
jeez you’re right – more coffee.
Do Denmark have their own version of “Free lions on a shirt”?
If you couldn’t see colour you’d wonder why so many look the same
Is the United Kingdom offering perforated so that any of the quarters can be easily detached?
If I were a primary school teacher and the task of today’s art class had been to design your own coat of arms, I would pat Austria, Croatia, Greece and Malta on their little heads and say “great work guys!” while thinking to myself that really they show little to no artistic flair.
