Entertainment and fashion programme Xposé has been cancelled after more than 12 years on the air as part of a schedule re-vamp on Virgin Media.

The show, which is currently hosted by Cassie Stokes, Glenda Gilson and Karen Koster, will bow out on October 4 with an hour-long special episode.

Xposé was originally broadcast in 2007 on TV3 and was carried over after the station’s takeover by Virgin Media.

It began as a daily programme, which was scaled back to three days a week in January. The show was reduced to one night a week in March of this year.

    I had the misfortune of being subjected to the morning show from TV3 yesterday while waiting in a doctors surgery- anyone who mourns the loss of Xpose just need to record that dirge and watch it at 5pm and they will not miss anything. Garbage.

    Ill never forget the Expose when they were faux-commiserating the recent death of David Bowie one of them says “awww. Ill miss listening to his music around the house” (?)

      That reminded me of when King Hussein of Jordan fired. Mariah Carey was asked by a CNN reporter at some red carpet event what her thoughts were. She said, “I’m inconsolable at the present time. I was a very good friend of Jordan, he was probably the greatest basketball player this country has ever seen, we will never see his like again.”
      When told that it was King Hussein of Jordan who had died and not Michael Jordan, Mariah was then led away by her security in a state of ‘confusion.’

        E news had some moments too. When the fella from Glee who was up on serious child pornography charges and took his own life , the presenters didn’t know what way they should express the news and you could see they were uncomfortable . At the end of the video piece about other recently deceased (from Heroin) Glee stars that they rolled into the report to dilute the child porno aspect down, Jason Kennedy looks at the camera and sighs insincerely “…Sad!” then the show quickly moved on to some other vacuous story or some SO True/So False bit. Hilarious!!

          Reminds me of when Kathryn Thomas was filling in for Tubridy on morning radio and had got hold of that newly-aired prank call audio between Aussie DJs and the London hospital where Kate Middleton was staying. Thomas played it once with lots of giggling and Oh.My.Gods, then another time sort of slagging off the unsuspecting nurse doing her job in dealing with the caller. She really swung out of it, got a bit obsessed. Of course we know that poor woman, Jacintha Saldanha took her own life shortly afterwards. Thomas had already finished her stint on that radio show and not an apology uttered from her. Vacuous.

    A hell of a lot of hate in the comments (same in theJournal) for a lightweight show that was all about glitz and glamour on a Penny’s budget.

    Remember when Lorraine Keane reckoned she was Irish celebrity royalty and demanded a raise? She was shown the door. TV3 doesn’t mis-appropriate license money to give nepotistic stars 1/2 million every year ala RTE, so just relax guys we didn’t pay for it and it had its moments – Vincent Browne presenting as an April Fools episode was and still is hilarious.

      As well as flogging tat from the usual suspects, it also showcased some Irish talent and it was decent lifestyle made-in-Ireland programming. Sad to see it go, though in truth, I’ve never watched a full episode but it was well-enough regarded by many.

        It featured many sole trader businesses
        Especially locally owned Salons and Boutiques that couldn’t possibly afford national advertising rates or have access to the RTÉ love nest of favours and kickbacks.

        There was no denying it was cheap and padded with placement content
        But it was harmless
        And did way more good turns than sneaky conniving self serving ones
        And for eff all cost

        It wouldn’t surprise to see a self produced YouTube channel spring up and do alright for itself

        I’d like to see them give it a lash anyway
