I hate this junction.
I can only imagine bus drivers hate it too.

I love this junction. You can weave in and out on a bike and squeeze right up to the front then bomb up past College Green while everyone else is sitting there with their thumb up their bum.

It is crazy and maddening beyond belief. Why not stop all the buses on O’Connell street/Dame St/Nassau St. put everyone on the luas, then pick up on the buses on the other side. Virtually every Dublin bus that crosses the Liffey uses it. It’s not working and it’s not acceptable.
dav
how many bus loads can 1 luas contain?
Conor
It’s one of the worst bottle necks in the city and nothing is being done about it. The timing of the lights is so poor sometimes that it beggars belief… yes I said beggars belief!
diddy
you can thank the luas vanity project. the appaling vista

Eeejits put the Luas around the front of trinity instead of the back. It would have been so much easier
Joe Small
Myself, I would’ve put the Luas straight through the University of Dublin.

Bus connect is going to be great. More buses more congestion, more traffic jams. Much better than modern underground rail system that are fast and efficient. Lets do things different.
brughahaha
More a case of lets do cheap ..after all if we spent money on decent infrastructure , then we couldn’t pay public and semi state management those massive wages and pensions , could we

Monorail?

More buses but fewer routes, so the buses are spread out over a longer timeframe.
So you have much more frequent buses along routes that are currently being served by a number of routes along the majority of their routes. Take a look at the 14, 15, 27, 27b, 42, 43 etc. Heading Northbound from Connolly station/Amiens street onwards, They all service the same fifteen stops in a row before the 14 turns off and heads down Collins ave. The whole point of Busconnects is to streamline this nonsense.

Whoever came up with our current traffic plan should be strung up by their hairy bits!
