This morning.;

The UK’s main parties are gearing up for a general election on December 12.

BBC Radio 5 Live presenter Emma Barnett asked three guests on her show this morning  to sum up the general election pitch of their respective parties when it comes to Brexit.

Conservative MP Paul Scully said:

“We’ve got to have a Parliament that better represents the people, we need to get Brexit done, and Boris Johnson and the Conservatives are the only ones offering a solution to get a deal, which we already have on the table, and getting it passed through Parliament.”

Labour MP Barry Gardiner said:

“We’re the only party that is being democratic and giving you the final decision [via a confirmatory referendum]. The Tories are all for a deregulatory, no-deal Leave, and the Liberal Democrats have said that even if we had a second referendum and it voted to leave, they would ignore it and revoke Article 50.”

Lib Dem MP Layla Moran said:

“If you are sick of Brexit, there is only one way to actually make it stop – and that is to vote Liberal Democrat to stop Brexit, revoke Article 50. That would then give us a boom in our economy that we could use to spend on the public services we all love – the NHS, on schools.”

    it’s quite a trick the Tories pulled, convincing millions of working class people to leave a partnership which ensured their human rights, to get in return, less rights and harsher conditions along with a recession and everything else on top of it all. to get people to vote in their own demise. a mix of evil puppeteers pulling the strings of idiots. “help us by digging your grave and we’ll help you climb into it”

      Yes but they will have blue passports and be able to wear a poppy EVERY month after Brexit, so it will be fantastic.

      Not half as impressive if the voter is conned by the “People Vs Parliament” ruse dreamed up by the PM; the embodiment of a feckless, privileged establishment figure.

      A people that elect corrupt politicians, imposters, thieves and traitors are not victims, but accomplices.
