“The Motion Is Widely Viewed As A Move Against Her”

Fine Gael TD Maria Bailey

RTÉ reports:

Fine Gael members in Dún Laoghaire will meet this evening to vote on a motion which demands a review of the party’s constituency candidates for the next general election.

While sitting Fine Gael TD Maria Bailey is not named, the motion is widely viewed as a move against her, following her controversial decision to sue a Dublin hotel after falling off a swing at the property.

I hope she wouldn’t be voted in again.

But if you look at a number of TDs that have dodgy pasts (I’m look at you Michael Lowry) that keep getting in despite their history – you have to wonder at the psyche of the Irish voter.

I don’t know if it’s psyche, rather than forgetting or just not knowing. FF destroyed the country for generations to come, and they only spent ONE term out of office. I saw a woman on the news ages ago say that Bertie Ahern can run for president, because “he did some bad things, but he admitted it, and apologised” .. neither of which he did at all. I bet that same women was cursing the ground he walked on back in 2008.

They’re doing this to save their own skin. If FG truly believed what she done was wrong Maria Bailey would have been shown the door long ago. Coveney’s belief that she has suffered enough through public ridicule is pathetic. The reason for the ridicule is her own actions

Wouldn’t be surprised if this is another optical illusion like the last motion of no confidence, where a handful of them apparently met in a pub and tried to force a motion of no confidence. Did she orchestrate that botched attempt to put the question of confidence in her to bed once and for all.

Her father was Chief Political Filth when he was around, so she didn’t lick this off the floor herself. She walks in her father’s footsteps.

As for chief clown Varadkar, well filth follows filth so no surprise this troglodyte thinks MB is fit for public office as part of Fine Gael

And the daw jawed Irish electorate will be subservient as usual and do what Leo tells them. Broken process can be fixed but ya can’t fix a stupid electorate.

The rotund Senator James Reilly of Faux Gentry will take his seat back.
He’s been in election mode here in the north of the county recently.
Oh the joy I feel is indescribable.

No Clare Daly to vote for, so an interesting election ahead in Fingal.

Look leave her alone at this stage, bloody holier than thou comments from everyone here.
Thought I was reading The Journal comments section for a minute

      Excuse me BailBo

An elected member of our Dáil
      Swore a false statement
      For Financial Gain
      Her own Financial Gain

That would have her barred from acting as a Director
Or from holding a senior position in a regulated financial institution

It would appear that Fine Gael have a different definition to Fitness and Probity Standards
      In fact
If she is not effed off that ticket tonight
      I am entitled to state
      Without Fear
That they have no Fitness and Probity Standards within their Party

      Not One Vote

      Four By-elections
      And not one win
Not even a sweat of a recount
