Generally when a company goes bust the last place government ministers want to be is anywhere near the place (Local TD’s an exception). But the public sector voting bloc must be catered to.

Where were all the ministers when Molex went bust 2 weeks ago? FIVE HUNDRED jobs gone and Min. humphries “talked to the CEO” on the phone!

This is great news, fossil fuels are killing us we need to do our part until such time China and India are comfortable enough to begin discussing a possible action plan on lowering their emissions, carbon taxes, travel restrictions and changes to our diet away from our reliance on meat are also good places to start.

  3. Brughahaha

Did Bruton give a powerpoint presentation marked “Action Plan”.
Its what he does every time and the media laps it up as if its ground hog day.
Then crosses off a few simple “completions” , nothing changes but the appearance of change has been managed

Sure it’s grand- they can all hang live animals by the hooves and cut their throats instead.

Why is Father Josepha there? Is peat a cultural, heritage or Gaeltacht portfolio brief (I mean other than Pete Briquette).

Bord na Mona was given a subsidy through the PSO levvy on electricity charges of
over a billion over the last 10 years, if the money was spent on retrofitting dwellings
it would have reduced heating bills and carbon emissions, the same goes for the
several Billion given to Wind Turbine operators, The PSO is scam like the Carbon
Tax levy, we have also not been told about the technical problems relating to the
operation of the Shannon Bridge Peat Power Station or to problems with the steam
    raising units

I’ve been made redundant twice, both while conveniently renting in Dublin. Both times I got the bare minimum from the company, there was no retraining for me. No TD showed up to support me either

You weren’t public sector. Theyre the huge voting blocs that every political party panders too. I hate repeating myself but it’s infuriating every time this happens. Ireland has a two tier work force and this is in fact our class system. Private sector workers get shafted all the time and nothing happens but as soon as the public sector workers are upset Ingrid Miley is on RTE giving the govt a bollicking.
