I see corporate media is still doing their best to skew public perception of current events in Hong Kong.
Glance at the photo and headline in the FT and you might come away thinking. “brutal police still oppressing those valiant pro-democracy supporters”. One protestor was shot but not killed by police but hang on, what’s that in paragraph two? A passing mention of protestors dousing a man in petrol and setting fire to him?! That’s way off the scale. The video which can be seen on twitter is shocking and shows that that the victim was simply arguing with protestors before they set him alight (view at your own discretion). So much for the noble battle for democracy.

Curious story about the death of the White Helmets founder, British mercenary James Le James Mesurier.
As John Pilger said the WH where nothing more than a “propaganda construct” created by UK intelligence to manipulate public opinion regarding the campaign for regime change in Syria and a means to funnel funding to terrorist proxies under the guise of humanitarian aid. Now that the wheels have come off that campaign, I wonder was he deemed expendable lest there be an inquiry under a Corbyn government or perhaps it was someone who’d suffered at the hands of the Wh exacting their revenge?

Founded in 2013, Franco mark II otherwise known as Vox is now the third largest party in Spain. In the media there will be the usual handwringing about populism and the far right but I guarantee that not one of them will be asking why right across Europe this is happening.

The most concise explanation I have heard is that in most of the world, borders are viewed as a means of keeping the peace but in Europe it is the opposite.

They all tag wider anti liberal issues like abortion but at its reactionary core is the march of Islam into Europe- which is also very right wing of course.

well @SOQ a little bit of it will be marching in sometime next week. hm Turkish Airlines or Learjet…suppose on the scheduled flight there’d be the inflight meals & entertainment, anyway I’m sure she’ll make the right choice given she knows the Lear pretty well already.

I wonder how the others get home? y’know the ones nobody wants to talk about. ah I’m sure our security services are all over it.

Apparently, there was quite a clever scam in use by the taxi men a while back.

When you get your meter calibrated you need to drive a mile around ballymun and they register that your meter is recording the correct fare.

The drivers would do the test on 16″ tyres and then drive around on 14″ so your meter would tick over faster….

Rents rise again- it has got to the point now where a lot of people just cannot afford to live in Dublin anymore as wages are nowhere near to keeping up. Interesting to see that Louth is more expensive than Limerick City, Cork County and Waterford City but Drogheda in particular is Dublin commutable.
