Fountains of Wayne – Valley Winter Song

Have you the blues/The Fear/The Mondays/unspecified dread?

As temperatures plunge and the daylight shrinks, so does our collective mood.

And to make matters worse, the working week looms large as we trudge to our proverbial cubicle.

To soften the blow, let me introduce a new weekly series where I choose a song that may ease your Monday and invite readers to chime in with YOUR own suggestions through the night.

To start, above is a wonderful song by American power-pop quartet Fountains Of Wayne that acts a musical comfort blanket against the winter chill.

Nick says: Enjoy.

  1. Buddy Flanagan

    Out Love by The Bros.Landreth.
A four minute requiem for lost love pumped along by a thumping beat, wailing guitar solos and just enough Hammond organ to raise the hairs on the back of your neck.
Proper old-fashioned rock from a Canadian quintet.
Puts a smile on my face every time.

An underrated album is Wecome Interstate Managers. Possibly marred and snubbed by the saccharine Stacy’s Mom
