Um.

This morning.

David Higgins tweetz:

A colleague just paid €8 for this salad in O’Brien’s Cafe, Dun Laoghaire [Shopping Centre, Dun Laghiare, County Dublin].

She went back and asked them to fill it to the normal level but they refused! “That’s what you ordered” was their reply. Our whole office has noticed them cheating their customers lately. Won’t be going back…

Thanks, I can read. Then why where they okay “leaving” with it, in the first place? Surely a confrontation the checkout was the time to bring the 8 euro up and tell them “no thanks ,keep it”. rather than pay like a sap and whinge on the internet. If this is the calibre if the current Irish consumer then O’Brien’s Café has nothing to worry about! They may as well start charging 10 euro.

in the photo from above, it vaguely looks like Ireland

for that alone, its probably worth between €5.30 and €6.80 – but €8 is criminal (capital C)

‘Please check your salad before leaving the store, as mistakes can’t be rectified later’

In fairness what’s to stop me walking away, eating half my salad, then coming back and saying “you only gave me half a salad, damn your eyes”?

a microcosm of ireland. ripping each other off. theres a strain of ‘new ireland’ people who display abhorrent greed shamelessly.
