Jeremy Corbyn was making a speech at a conference in London when he was asked about Labour being the “party of the many, but not the Jew”

British elites becoming desperate as the smear campaign against Corbyn goes back into overdrive now a general election has been declared?
        https://www.jonathan-cook.net/blog/2019-11-11/antisemitism-smears-corbyn/
“The stakes could not be higher for Britain’s ruling class. As worried as many of them are by Brexit, Corbyn is seen as a bigger threat. He might call time on the banquet they have been gorging on for four decades uninterrupted.

If Corbyn shunts Boris Johnson and the Tories out of power, the millionaires and billionaires who control both the British print and broadcast media, including the BBC, fear the good times could come to an abrupt end. The Brexit threat pales in comparison.”

Isn’t that case in point? After all their trawling through old footage the best they’re able to come up with is Corbyn speaking at a pro-Palestinian rally from 11 years ago where another speaker criticises the Jewish community for not rejecting Zionism outright due to the suffering which Zionism has imposed upon Palestinians. And that’s suppose to persuade us that Corbyn himself is antisemitic?

Where you aware that before he stood for the Labour leadership in 2015, Jeremy Corbyn had not been accused of antisemitism in any UK press article?

According to a ProQuest newspaper database search carried out by Media Lens:
” ‘Jeremy Corbyn’ and ‘antisemitism’ before May 2015 = 18 hits

‘Jeremy Corbyn’ and ‘antisemitism’ after May 2015 = 6,133 hits

None of the 18 mentions before May 2015 included any accusation that Corbyn was antisemitic”.

What we’re witnessing is an obvious propaganda campaign by those who don’t want to see Corbyn become PM.

So the independent Equality and Human Rights Commission inquiry into whether Labour had “unlawfully discriminated against, harassed or victimised people because they are Jewish” is part of an anti-Corbyn plot ?

And the Jewish Labour Movement refusing to campaign for Labour during the general election ?

And the Jewish Labour MP Luciana Berger quitting the party calling it “institutionally anti-Semitic”

            All under Corbyn’s watch.

…this weekend the zionists have bombed Gaza and Damascus, killed several children and terrorized thousands more…how many did Corbyn kill?

          4. f_lawless

@ Bud I would say in all likelihood yes. The EHRC have yet to release any findings so at the moment all there really is is the opinion of the pro-Zionists such as the “Jewish Labour Movement” on one side, and on the other, the non-Zionist “Jewish Voice For Labour” who say that the grounds for the inquiry are invalid; and strongly suspect that it’s been initiated in the wake of bogus complaints made by Labour Party members ideologically opposed to the “Corbynista” movement gaining control of the Labour Party..
            https://www.jewishvoiceforlabour.org.uk/statement/ehrc-investigation-into-the-labour-party-evidence-of-jewish-voice-for-labour/
Quote “Our wide and deep collective knowledge of the Labour Party, including in recent years of its disciplinary processes, makes us highly sceptical of the claim that the party has committed unlawful acts of discrimination..
..There is disquiet among many JVL members that many antisemitism-related complaints in the period under review were products of an organised effort to expose, solicit and submit such complaints. ”

British Labour is a fractured party. There’s the New Labour, “Blairite” camp which aren’t really left-wing and then there’s the “Corbynista” side with more traditional socialist leanings. Added to that you have the powerful Israeli lobby which has a strong influence over British politics in general -a fact that is airbrushed out of political journalism in British corporate media. It’s not too long ago that Al Jazeera secretly filmed the head of ‘Labour Friends of Israel’ with an Israeli diplomat discussing £1M in junkets and plans to “take down” pro-Palestinian MP’s.

        1. MaryLou's ArmaLite

People with the Labour party and Britain’s Jewish groups have all said he has a problem, but you know it is a conspiracy….. orchestrated by the Jews no doubt.

          1. f_lawless

The fact that you believe that suggests you’ve been propagandised. Asserting that all Britain’s Jewish groups are united in the belief that Corbyn is an anti-Semite, is to promote a stereotype and is in itself antisemitic. There’s a significant minority of various Jewish groups in the UK that aren’t pro-Zionist and who don’t believe Corbyn is an anti-Semite – it’s just that their voices are largely prevented from being heard in British corporate media. eg Jewish Voice For Labour.

          2. MaryLou's ArmaLite

As you said yourself, a minority of Jews don’t believe he is an anti-Semite…..the rest….

          3. f_lawless

I couldn’t say for sure what percentage of Jewish people in the UK really believe Corbyn is an anti-Semite. But I do know that the Israeli lobby has a far-reaching influence over many of the organised groups. On top of that ,there’s been the relentless smear campaign in corporate media portraying Corbyn as an anti-Semite. That’s what those those who have decided he is one have based their conclusions on. What else is there to go on?

I’m just reading this 2009 article in the UK Independent by British writer, Anthony Lerman, former director at the Institute for Jewish Policy Research.
            https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/middle-east/must-jews-always-see-themselves-as-victims-1639277.html
He argues “that suffering is the determining feature of the Jewish condition.(but) until Jews shake off their persecution complex, there can never be peace in the Middle East….Any anti-Semitism must be taken seriously, even at the best of times, but our appetite for the apocalyptic assessment of the anti-Semitic threat seems to know no bounds.”
To me, that could suggest that the average Jewish person in the UK may have a tendency to be more susceptible to false narratives such as the Labour Party being led by an anti-Semite . (Of course such a candid article like that by a Jewish writer would probably never be published in today’s climate).

RTE are selling off a few paintings today. They may realise enough money to pay part of Finucane’s yearly salary. D4bes sure does have great business acumen.

    1. Ghost of Yep

Was wondering how long it would take for you to link a gript article. Thanks for the short wait.

      1. GiggidyGoo

I’m just wondering when you’ll actually comment on the subject matter, rather than the poster. Your playground antics really do show you up. Is there anything in the link which you’re supportive of?

Liam Brady called scraping a 1-1 draw at home and failing to qualify for the easiest-to-qualify Euros ever held ” the best Irish performance in years. ”
You couldn’t make this rubbish up if you tried.
Ireland were dreadful for most of the game as they have been for most of the qualifying process.

      1. Charlie

You’re obviously not a soccer man. Brady was right. It was the best Irish performance in years. Have you seen the poo that’s been served up in recent years. Denmark are a superior team but we were the more positive. We’ve a long way to go but if we were to play like that all the time, a lot more people would go see them.
Also, our group was not the hardest but there were easier ones. Denmark and Switzerland’s world rankings are far higher than ours.

        1. Bud Flanagan

I suppose if they fail in the play-offs as well they can always use the 33rd Team gambit again …

      1. Charlie

You obviously missed the game last night. They went forward at every opportunity. Check the statistics.

        1. GiggidyGoo

I watched it. They went forward. I didn’t say that they didn’t. But spell after spell, especially in the first half, there didn’t seem to be much creativity, and time after time there were passes back from midfield to the goalkeeper and to other backs, which were putting pressure on Randolph, that didn’t need to be done.

          1. Charlie

Newsflash! The ball must go back if there is no path forward. They were very positive. Give them some credit, they played more than well l last night.

The Hong Kong police are better dressed for tear gas than the protesting students. The students should review their tactics and reintegrate their campaign with the hopes of the wider population in the territory. It’s about the demos, not specifically about student activists.

  4. GiggidyGoo

Poor Verona Murphy. Yet another apology. Kehoe must be rubbing his hands in glee, as he sees off a threat (at least he will think so) to his seat next year.
I saw two posters today, on successive poles. The first was Malcolm Byrne and a sticker on it with ‘Vote for this’ written on it. The second was Verona Murphy, with a sticker on it with ‘Get this’ written on it.
George Lawlor has his posters up too. A sound fellow, gets really involved in the community (one of the founders of Marine Watch I think). However, much as i like him, Labour will never ever get a vote again from me.

Centrist politics is about using personality imperfections to distract from the main issues of housing, homelessness, economic malaise in towns and villages and the likelihood of recession caused by Brexit and USA trade policies. Keep it up lads and lassies. The personal is political.
