keep us safe? from what? This is Ireland so I’m guessing this doesn’t work the other way around. Subtle scaremongering language paving the way to the eventual sharing of every citizens information with our protectorates to ” keep us even safer”. Are we going to share information on Google or Facebooks criminal activity here?
This will assist with the sharing of information throughout the EU.
So if any of the people in your examples had a criminal record in any other EU state, then this would help.
Outside the EU, no. For people with no criminal record, no.

If a recent EU migrant decides to become a teacher, or Gard, or anything else here that requires vetting here I think it can only be positive that that vetting would include a criminal record check from across the EU?
