The house in Manor Street, Stoneybatter, Dublin 7 today (top) and in 2018 (above)
This afternoon.
Via The Irish Times:
William Garnermann has been prosecuted by the council and appeared at Dublin District Court on Tuesday when he took a hearing date.
He is accused of causing a nuisance by feeding feral pigeons at his home and its environs, on Manor Street, in Stoneybatter, Dublin 7. It is also alleged by feeding the wild birds he is encouraging the keeping of them at his home address.
He is being prosecuted under the Local Government (Sanitary Services) Acts and was summonsed to court by the council.

whats peoples beef with pigeons? and sea gulls while we’re at it. they were here first. they don’t fall under our laws, theyre nature. let em do as they please.
No
They may have been here first but we’re here now
We don’t really hate the gays,
signed,
Islam
they are developing bad and nuisance behaviours in response to how we behave (disposing of food etc) and neither really have any natural predators due to their living close to humans. It’s our responsibility to manage them so they don’t pose significant risk eg. seagulls attacking children and the elderly in Skerries and Balbriggan.
i don’t think it’s our place to get involved in nature. Seagull attacks are a lot rarer than is made out, and even at that, it’s not our place to wage war on them. It’s not like they’re guna change their behaviour because we wiped out a bunch of them, it’s not an answer, to just wipe out swathes of em. Line in the sand, if theres a war, i’m on the side of the gulls and pigeons.
Is feeding them not getting involved
yea. so what?
“i don’t think it’s our place to get involved in nature.”
Send that to 200,000 BC.
You’d swear they were going around with switchblades. Jesus, they cheekily grab a bit of grub here and there and all of a sudden they are attackers who must be ‘managed’. fFs
I live in Stoneybatter and the pigeons are there doing absolutely poo all except hanging out and fluttering around in a circle every 10 mins.
Some greedy fupper has their eye on it and are pressuring the Council to deal with it for them
take too long to pluck. basterds.
Their poo contains a mite that’s dangerous to humans.
Pigeon or beef? Aer Lingus standards slipping again.
Stoneybother?
Speaking of pigeons, saw a couple of them in a waiting room at Sheffield train station this morning that were so obese they had trouble walking.
That is an English thing- they are probably from Poland then decided not to ‘work hard’- all Polish here work 12 hours a day for half the minimum wage.
Holy pigeon poo Batman
Poor William is taking the rap for an issue that’s been hatching for some time.

A few feathers ruffled there, right enough
Martin Cahill was a great man for the pigeons.
Great video, accents and banter are great, should be archived by the archivers!
Pigeons are great too, as a species, excellent fliers, resourceful and always know how to get home.
This Pigeon dude would be PITA though in fairness, neighbours should get some cats in to help the black lad in the video, he’s not going to win that war!
What ‘black lad in the video’?
At 5:10 and earlier but I couldn’t find it.
I wonder if the wardens have been moving yer man who feeds the pigeons in St Stephens Green? He seems to be now doing it outside the entrance. Baby Bear scattered hundreds as he took the corner on his Saturday morning walk.
Is not that house for sale? Do No Good agents, etc…
The estate agent in question is apparently not max Botulinum toxin but if he or she laughs on a visit- or cries- watch check for tears.
That house is terrifying to go past. I am not ordinarily bothered by pigeons but the sheer number of them the last time I went past was disconcerting. There were at least a couple of hundred of them.
