This afternoon.
Minister for Transport Shane Ross (top) takes part in the launch of the JAM card (above) which aims to help people with disabilities or communication difficulties to let others know they need extra time boarding.
Iarnród Éireann tweetz:
JAM Card allows people with a communication barrier tell others they need ‘Just A Minute’ discreetly and easily & will assist customers using the public transport system & make their experience as stress-free as possible. Launched today by Transport For Ireland with all transport operators.
In response…
Non-profit disability rights activist group Access For All Ireland tweetz:
Just a minute Iarnród Éireann, could we have working lifts as well so then we can acess the trains as well?
Yesterday, the group tweeted:

The drivers can make up the minutes lost by veering in and out of the bike lanes.
Same as cyclists veering in and out of bus lanes…blah, blah, blaaaahhhh.
Another thought is, that despite the disdain many posters here and Irish people have against the British, the Irish seem to poach all the innovative and good ideas from the UK. When will the Irish take care of their own in any real, true meaningful way?
Ask a certain chairman from Cork- the most incompetent yet to be appointed.
Smoking ban; plastic bag levy anyone?
Or how about bus/train/tram users stop being rude and impatient. Five extra seconds won’t kill you.
This
