Always enjoyed watching Gary cook when he was on the telly. Calm and controlled not loud and brash like some other header (you know, rhymes with Shamsey). Always with the risotto though was Gary, I don’t think a TV appearance went by without the risotto. RIP.
his book “New British Classics” was always a goto for me in the run up to the xmas day bedlam…and will be yet again this year
a proper old school chef under it all like Corrigan
sad sad news. RIP
Jamie Oliver Instagrammed he ” passed away after a tragic fall ” then hurriedly deleted this.
I wonder why ?
Not really anyone’s business outside of his immediate family, I should think.
I dunno.
I’m always interested in knowing how celebs departed this mortal coil.
Makes them mere mortals.
Had many a nice meal in Gazza’s Southbank gaff and he seemed a decent cove who liked a drink or three.
I often wondered where he disappeared to and it seems the desert.
RIP.
+1
Another cook gone and the world is blander
God rest your soul
Well, not from grace.. unlike the serial adulterous amphetamine charged poster..
I remember when the Dublin restaurant opened- a place to be seen. There was drag queens elbowing with rugby players to get a front seat- the drag queens usually won btw because they played dirty- full on Celtic tiger- sporting the new outfit from the shopping trip to New York- remember when this time of year that was a thing?
Anyways- RIP- so young- so as the song goes- enjoy yourself, it’s later than you think.
You obviously weren’t there. The restaurant was a flop. Besides the lousy location, the service (as I experienced it) was utterly dismal. A 250 seat restaurant with a Capel St address. Ironically, D7 would work now. Probably.
Bad luck.
RIP.
The location hasn’t hampered Brother Hubbard.
RIP. What caused such an early death?
Allegedly a fall (per a deleted Jamie Oliver post). Sad news, RIP.
I saw a product , just yesterday, with his name on it. I thought to myself, gosh, wonder what became of him…. Bizarre.
…a bean marie?
He was one of the gents of TV cheffery. Condolences to his family.
