Seems to be a distinct lack of counter protestors.

No Extinction Rebellion character standing in front of the tractor, Tiananmen Square style? Ah here! In fairness it is a bit damp to be out ion Birkenstocks.

Probably about the same as the thousands of city-dwellers cars and SUVs in people’s driveways being paid for on some PCP (?) or whatever never-never plan.

Varies wildly depending on size and capability but you could drop 60-70 grand on a late-model used John Deere

Very true, but New Holland are a cheaper alternative to John Deere, so why pay for one used JD when one can get two NH for the same price/ HP/ hourly use (mileage) etc…

Most farmers have a few tractors, but only a multi-thousand acre (hectare) estate could really justify having more than a few JD tractors. With that said, a JD will last for life.

Our rural-cousins arrived in the city
But weren’t clear on the nitty & gritty
which for them was a shame
    and they’ve no-one to blame
‘cept themselves which is surely a pity.

The issue, my friend, is quiet clear. The food that you eat is not dear. But Goodman is greedy. The farmers are needy. Now Creed has a flea in his ear.

Amateurs. Its the M50 blocked and hay bales on O’Connell lads that you need, not a police escort !!!

  4. BS

Don’t let the door of the pale hit you on the way out.

Not making a living out of your chosen farming method? Change! Diversify!

Or just protest for more free money. Yokels.

Or- just send your sons and daughters to work in Spike city where they will pay half their nett wage on a damp kip with 18 unemployed people living upstairs?

Jayzus SOQ – are you ok? Getting hard to follow your train of thought recently. Here, i’ll lighten up your day…

Rural fellow, for many years, had a tractor magazine on order monthly with his newsagent. One day he arrived in and grabbed a magazine about air conditioning. The newsagent couldn’t figure it out and eventually asked whether he wanted the tractor magazine or not.
“No” came the reply – “I’m an extractor fan now”

  5. Truth in the News

Rural Ireland has been voting for a useless bunch of politicians mainly from Fianna Fail
and Fine Gael, who have not represented them at all in the last 20 to 30 years, they have
allowed the likes of Goodman and his likes to control the meat industry, then there is the
so called CoOp sector which have become monopolies, in large part Farmer owned, but
with a corporate mind set more in tune with Wall St and IBEC than the coop ethos.
There is little point in huge tractors up and down Kildare St or Merrion St , the place to
make Farmer presence felt is inside the gates of the Dail and Gov Depts, to do t his needs
leadership and a political plan of campaign, what a despicable sight of so called Minister
for Agriculture out at 7 o;clock in the morning trying to head off the protester’s, where was
he the day before, spinning waffle in the Dail about fictitious death threats.
