How does one become Honourary President for life? Who is entitled to bestow such a title, and why bestow it on a Denis O’Brien?

…the most accurate poll during the 2017 UK election cycle was the exit poll published the minute the polls closed which was spot on…polls are a snapshot in time and their accuracy is easy to calculate…the UK referendum polls were not all wrong when they unanimously forecast a landslide for remain…so clear cut seemed the result that it persuaded huge numbers of remainers that their vote was not required…

        and on Tory racism, there’s always this, from the horse’s mouth;
Lady Sayeeda Warsi, former Conservative chair and the country’s first female Muslim cabinet minister, said: “There is a gulf between the rhetoric of tackling Islamophobia in my party and my party actually tackling it. Time and time again we see those accused of anti-Muslim racism face no penalty and no consequence.

“They continue to be embraced by the party leadership and this sends a clear message that there is a culture of impunity on the issue of Islamophobia in the Conservative party.”

no, the salient point is that her party is absolutely shameful on tackling of islamophobia within its ranks.

The fake Reddit story of leaked documents has had the unintentional effect of pushing the NHS back up the electoral agenda- despite the fact that the media have yet to cover the contents of those documents. It is the Tories weak spot and if the election was ran on that single issue, Labour would win hands down.

The core question is how far into the Tory support Lib Dems will eat- tactical voting and a mobilised young vote are also big unknowns- the only thing for near certain is a high turnout. Never before has there been so many intertwined and conflicting issues to vote on- polls got it badly wrong twice before so who knows.

Up north is a very strange state of affairs- despite Johnson talking out of both sides of his mouth, if his Brexit does happen then there will be an economic border in the Irish Sea- and the loyalists are already getting jittery. Marc Mallet done a really good job hosting the election debate on UTV last night mind.

Firstly- the 3 million odd new or rereg voters are <35 and if spread evenly, two thirds of which are not students- there is no data so we don’t know but the apathy is going on for a lot longer than those under 25.

Secondly, Yes I would like to see a socialist government in Britain because the balance would be good but, I also believe in Irish unification and the DUP/Loyalists (same thing) are correct- it is a step in that direction- from my perspective a win either way.

Now why have you popped up all of a sudden?

Is that the selfie that shows two children of Asian immigrants, severel Jews and a Muslim who occupy some of the highest offices in the land ?
What an excellent advertisement for the modern Tory party.

Interestingly a YouGov poll yesterday showed the Tories polling significantly better among the working class than Labour, leading by 17 points.
The Tories could be on for the best result among that demographic since the glory days of the blessed Margaret Thatcher.
Labour paying the price for ignoring their traditional vote in favour of the metropolitan Smuggerati and students.

the working class of england and wales have certainly shown themselves to be politically astute and well capable for voting in their own best interests

The people in question are leavers and the Tories who will vote for Lib Dems are remainers- nobody really know how many are in each but- it is a lot easier switch for the second group than the first.

You could interpret it another way.: The Tory party, the party of “the Self”. What better symbolic representation than through a selfie? The narcissistic leader takes centre stage. In the background we see his hangers-on with some obvious forced smiles. Just saying ;)

Take a look at this video.
It starts off in a light-hearted manner but ends with Jews pleading with Boris to defeat Corbyn otherwise they might have to leave the country.
This is the reality of what life would be under Corbyn/McDonell.
Jewish people feeling they have to leave the country because of anti-semitisim.
It is shameful that the leader of Britain’s Opposition has allowed his party to descend to this level.
