There doesn’t look to be a throwing action involved there. My guess it that it was very windy and the envelope was blown from the postman’s hands. Maybe Anon would post the actual video, rather than stills, and we’d know then.

GiggidyGoo, The video identifies the postie so we thought blurry stills would suffice. He definitely chucks it.

      you’re wrong again, giggidy

what we have here is a textbook case of the off-break spin bowling technique – at least i think so (perhaps charger might confirm) but, as you know, i’m rarely, if ever, wrong

Well based on the stills, what other conclusion could I have came to? Nice of you to come up with that observation after </i) Bodger clarification though. You’re really with it.
        Or……
You're not a postman BB are you?

If so, then check out on youtube, Post Modern Jukebox. Really good versions of songs – my particular favorites are Don’t Stop Believing and All About The Bass.

Are we looking at the same set of stills? He clearly sends the package spinning end-over-end like an upright discus.

Surely not. The man is a woorrrker and could not have possibly done anything wrong in Goo’s world. Its only bosses that do things that are wrong. The union will probably now want retaining to show how parcels should be properly thrown. Btw I have a great postman, but idiots like this need to be called out.

Difficult to give an opinion on spin from stills Bro.
But it looks like he’s bowling underarm to me and that’s illegal in top class cricket thanks to the brutish Aussies in an infamous episode nearly as bad as their recent ball tampering antics.
On February 1, 1981, Australia played New Zealand in a one-day game with NZ needing a six from the last ball to draw the game.
Caddish Aussie skipper Greg Chappell ordered his brother Trevor to bowl it underarm along the ground to New Zealand batsman Brian McKechnie.
As a batsman, it is almost impossible to score off an underarm bowl. As a result, Australia won the match and the series 2-1.
The underarm ball was not against the rules in Australia at the time. However, it was considered to be unsportsmanlike and later made illegal.
        Typical Aussies mind you.
        Just not cricket.

Yes. If you look at the hanging basket, in the final still it has moved proving the effect of the wind.

imagine if a medical professional such as yourself went about his business with such fainéant fecklessness

  2. Slightly Bemused

While this is a disgraceful action, in line with the many shown from US delivery services in other media, I like to think that this is the exception here.

I can only speak from personal experience, but the posties in my hometown are all really good. Admittedly, most of the live in this rather small town (my own postie is just four doors down from me) and several went to school here. If they acted like this, they would never hear the end of it, and if any temps did this they would not last long either. The local post mistress (a lovely lady) would not tolerate it. No need to go to head office: it would be dealt with quickly and locally.

They often bring in temporary staff for Christmas. They rarely give them uniforms, however.

  3. scottser

i regularly see postmen firing parcels over the gates of those big embassy type houses in d4 on the way in to work.
also, you rarely see a fear an phoist wearing a cycle helmet, which for someone on a bike 8 hours a day is a bit nuts.

    1. Cian

The postmen I see (in Dublin) have the bike more to carry the letters than to actually cycle – they certainly aren’t in the saddle 8 hours per day.

An Post was stolen my parcel, last 2 weeks a go, the tracking is showing some on collected in Kilkenny, but the package needed to delivered in Limerick, for the moment no any customer service from the anpost never found a problem, so stupid…..

  5. Watery Fowls

Not an An Post uniform, neither are posties allowed any form of footwear except the official safety boots.
