Fleabag wasn’t all that great. A lot of Guardian hype. Found Motherland a lot better.
I enjoyed both of them. And Catastrophe, loved that.
I thought fleabag was absolutely brilliant. Series 2 was better than series 1 and I was totally invested in her dalliance with the priest and devastated when he decided to stick with Jesus… Also thought he was very hot and was quite disappointed when i realised he was gay (because you know I was in with a chance before that LOL!)
Was it for this etc etc
How the Telegraph is reporting it …
” The 2020 Golden Globes nominations celebrated British talent such as Pheobe Waller-Bridge, Andrew Scott, Olivia Colman and Andrew Lloyd-Webber, but sounded a death knell for terrestrial British television with no non-streamed television shows earning recognition. ”
Wahaay.
Was it for this etc etc
And the Dail Mail …
” The prodigious talents of Phoebe Waller-Bridge have once again been recognised, while Royal drama The Crown also features prominently among the British nominations for the 77th Golden Globe Awards.
Both Killing Eve and Fleabag feature among this year’s list of nominees, with the latter receiving a total of three across various categories, including Best Comedy Series.
Andrew Scott features in the Best TV Supporting Actor category for his portrayal of the Priest in Waller-Bridge’s two series sit-com about the dating disasters of a sexually insatiable young woman living in London. “
And The Guardian
” British talent once again punched above its weight on both the big and small screens, with Olivia Colman, Helena Bonham Carter and Tobias Menzies all up for awards for their work on the third series of stately royal series The Crown. Fleabag’s Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Andrew Scott are also in contention, likewise Jodie Comer for Killing Eve, Helen Mirren for Catherine the Great and Chernobyl’s Emily Watson and Jared Harris. “
On behalf of my country I would like to offer a formal apology …
The UK Independent …
” It was yet another big year for the Brits, with nominations for Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Andrew Scott (Fleabag) and The Crown stars Olivia Colman, Tobias Menzies and Helena Bonham Carter. “
FFS – I thought ‘well, maybe he is from N. Ireland or something, could be one of those complicated…’
– he’s from fuppin’ Dublin!!
To be fair, they don’t claim him as British, they just say it was “another big year for the Brits” and it is a British show…
“Budawanny” would have worked as well!
#deepcut
I absolutely loved Budawanny.
I thought Andrew Scott was brilliant in Fleabag, well deserved nomination!
I didn’t know he was a Dub though, or even Irish for that matter…
You mean the accent did not give it away? :-)
