following the submission by RTÉ of its revised strategy to government, the Government is to provide an additional €10m funding to broadcasting with approximately €9m going to RTÉ to implement its new plan.

The funding will come from the Department of Social Protection, in respect of free TV licences and will be provided in the 2020 revised estimates.

I’ll remind people of this when the gen election comes round. RTE just got 9million out of the budget for social protection. Nice one FG

And so the FAI is short of cash and a basket case and FG give nothing . Should the same principle not apply to RTE because it’s basket case number 2?

As well, Zappone gave back, what, €63m or something like that in unused child-related funding.

I hope Tubridy, Finucane etc. appreciate that they can continue to suckle the public teat, courtesy of the DSP, whole sipping on their after-hours cocktails in their chosen party spots.

Give Me A Break (and that would probably hang the RTE Player too). Shameful bailing out of these other bankers.

Mouth Leo, ably abetted by half-way-up-the-hill Michilín rallying behind their insurance company friends. Who is in whose pocket at this stage? It’s getting near the end of term of this FFG Coalition. Time to dole out (literally) to RTE to make sure of biased coverage, and time to soft soap the insurance companies as there will be board positions to fill with ex Ministers.
