While this ad campaign is very good, many drivers seem to think they have to cross the centre line to allow 1.5 metres when passing a cyclist. Many more drivers seem to think they may cross the centre line into the path of oncoming traffic rather than waiting behind the cyclist until it is safe to pass.

when weighing up options on how best to pass, ‘just fupping wait’ doesn’t seem to factor for most motorists

They also rant about ‘how will I know it’s exactly 1.5m’ entirely missing the point that it’s about safety for everyone, not skirting the law by a cm.

Imagine someone who supports Sinn Féin having simplistic ideas in other areas of life – colour me surprised…

I didn’t realise cyclists were being killed by motorists because they didn’t have to pay tax or pay for insurance.. So I guess that means that all those cases of manslaughter should be categorised as murder then, right?

I somtimes cycle 20k to work. I sometimes drive to work and I sometimes ride a motorbike to work. So I think I speak without bias when I say

Some cyclists can be a-holes with a persecution complex.
Some car drivers can be aggressive a-holes
Some bikers can be idiotic a-holes with a death wish.

Maybe if there was less a-holery all ’round the world would be a nicer place.

(I include myself in all 3 btw)

maybe the a-hole driver did nothing wrong and the a-hole cyclist caused itself to get dead all by itself
