Hello everyone, kindly share this if you can..
If you are struggling financially to put a dinner on the table on Christmas Day or if you live alone and don’t have someone to spend the day with, Sitar Indian Restaurant Carlingford will be serving free dinner to anyone who walks through our doors from 1pm – 4pm.
We need your support in this matter, spread the word so we can make sure no one will miss out on this. If we can make Christmas just a little bit better for even one person by opening our doors and providing a warm and friendly meal, well that’s enough for us. You can eat in the restaurant or take away.
You can have a lunch with us or simply take food home.
No questions will be asked!
Much appreciated,
Ricky
In fairness.

tip of the cap. what a very ncie gesture. also giving up their own xmas day to do this.
+1
(giving up their christmas?… like you working through your diwali)
in fairness there are Indian Christians, they thought it would liberate them from the caste system, but +1 indeed, it’s Christian in spirit anyway
you know me, Big J, i’m just being a little sillypants

Is Christians not the upper caste?
no Brahmin
This is a good gesture from the heart and has noting to do with religion.
Fair play. I’m nowhere near Carlingford but hopefully some people will give them their custom as a thank you for the kind gesture. I’ll try to do so to restaurants offering the same around my neck of the woods.
Fantastic. I like Indian restaurateurs a lot – very family-orientated and into creating big sharing dishes with a philosophy of sharing food in the community and breaking bread together.
Will definitely visit there when up that way again. Carlingford is a great spot.
Well if you like Temple Bar crowding and prices yeah. In fairness, Carlingford proves what can be done when the whole community pull together- they are so focused on their tourism trade it is unreal.
You can actually see Kilkeel across the lough from there. Kilkeel doesn’t do tourists of course- just strangers.
You can’t see Kilkeel from Carlingford. You can see Warenpoint and Rostrevor. Kilkeel is around the coast, north.
So that is Rostrevor on the corner if you are looking from the Omeath side of Carlingford?
It’s definitely not the point.
Iwerzon?
Outdoor sports, pursuits and a spot of seafood. Not a bit like Temple Bar thankfully.
Oh please- since when did hiking up a mountain by retired professionals become the main reason people check into Carlingford?
There is more extra martial activity than in a Thai ladyboy club.
I’m a professional but I’m not retired.
And I don’t do martial arts.
After visiting family in Cross, I take the walk up at Rostrevor and the Mournes and then come down and do a bit-a kayaking around the lough. Pottering around the peninsula wouldn’t be unusual and if I’m with visitors I’ll bring them to the Long Woman’s Grave or just nice vistas over the lough. When I was there once I did the most amazing pier jump which I try to do again and again because it’s so refreshing but requires helmet and life vest.
The Carlingford oysters are fresh and lovely and the pints too.
If there is anything sinister about these pursuits, soq, or about my choice of weekend break, or the location itself, they’re in your sordid mind, not mine.
No there is a good man
A wonderful gesture, fair play, and sounds like it could be a nice day of it

The Indians, a great bunch of lads.
Dots or feathers?
Damn foreigners coming over here giving away their delicious food for free to people in need, no doubt there’ll be protests by the G’OD crowd.
Very good I agree with all your saying. Good for restaurant we will go there. Next time we are in next time we visit
It’s the wiping-of-arse-with-left-hand that I don’t like
it’s the sillies who don’t wash the hands full stop and spread the nervovirus,
pick a hand sounds safer
i thought you were a lady, janet
Fair Dues. Kudos.
Never been to Carlingford. Wonder if it can beat Ruchii in Blackrock? Best Indian ever.
Christmas can be so tough for some people, this is pretty amazing.
Fair play to these people. A very kind thing to do.
So much respect and honour for Kind and giving hearts Like the owners and staff of this Indian restaurant….what an example of kindness on a day that can be sad and lonely for some With no family to go to!!!
