In the meantime, the pension age is raised to 67. Codding €45 per week from over 5000 people who must now remain on the dole an extra year.

It’s a kip, sells rotten grub and wouldn’t consider employing a 65 year old in a month of Sunday’s. Apart from that the toilets are usually clean.

It’s preferable to a call centre! I’ve heard of Maccy D workers in Wexford getting jobs in nearby Eistec and returning to McDonald’s due to it being a better, fairer working environment.

Indeed, I think I would prefer that to working in a call centre, too (which I have done previously).

I wouldn’t look down on any job that earns an honest day’s pay, and I don’t consider any job as being beneath someone’s dignity, as giggidy and Charlie seem to.

Congratulations to Eoin Morgan who now becomes a Commander of the British Empire in the New Year’s Honours List.
Led England to World Cup success this summer.
And just signed a contract worth £563,000 to play for Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL.
Not bad for six weeks work.
Ireland’s most successful sportsperson of recent times ( if you discount the gurning lowlife Conor McGregor ).

The hysteria in the FAI about Ross’s joke is hilarious. The FAI needs 60M to continue. They clearly don’t deserve it. If most of us were in danger of losing our jobs due to mismanagement in the private sector we would not have the option of a bailout and if we did we could take a few jokes.

        60mill huh

So worth it AFAIC – they’d have it repaid within 24 months – 36 at the most

But I think they are worth an 100 mill investment – 60 mill to shore up and steady the house, and use the balance to invest in a new 2030 strategy

Can’t give them any money while anyone from Delaney era is still employed there so everyone needs to be replaced. They stood by while it was run into the ground ,their jobs have to go.

            Ah yeah
I wasn’t saying transfer the lot over into the suspense account

Put it into administration for a – say three year period
While it builds a new Board and Governance framework
Appoint a new CEO and let them work with the Staff and develop a new manpower chart etc

Have the Dept of an Taoiseach guaranteerantee 80 ish million
And maintain the training and education grants

            That should get them there

Is that you John D? How is an organisation that built up 60M in debt going to repay 100m in a year?

          Sell some high end tickets.

Let the organisation go into receivership. Set up a new one in a few years. Funded by fans.

I need to go offline for a few days – family visit, who delightfully live in a place still offline. So, in case I am not back in time, I just want to wish you all a happy new year!

The last one was good, hope the next one is better!
