What a great start to the year for Boris Johnson’s new government.
The Withdrawal Agreement sails through the Commons and an agreement to get Stormont back up and running is brokered.
Kudos to the Irish government as well for the cooperation shown in getting the two sides in the North to agree to power-sharing once again.
After the shambles of the last three years it’s amazing what a big majority in the House of Commons can produce.
Last but not least, Nigel Farage’s decision to stand the Brexit Party down in hundreds of constituencies helped to deliver Boris his big majority – he’s the real hero of Brexit, twice guiding two separate political parties to a position to influence history in a major way.
Lord Farage has a nice ring to it …
In other matters good luck to Sir Harry of Kane in his recovery from the op and here’s hoping Spurs don’t continue to run him into the ground. He has an important role to play in winning the Euros for Engerland this summer.
What a great year 2020 promises to be.
    Marvellous.
    As you were chaps.

Were you dropped on your head as a child ?
The Withdrawal Agreement means the UK will Brexit.
Negotiations over a trade deal haven’t started yet so whether the UK Brexits with or without a deal is still unknown.
You’re having a bit of a ‘mare this morning old sport.

      2. GiggidyGoo

Good man Charger. I pointed out that you told us, emphatically, that a no deal brexit was on its way. (Pip Pip)
And now you’re saying it’s unknown. Sure you’re are a real clever fellow. Boris will be delighted being supported by a wit like you.

Iran admits to shooting down the plane. Where is that terrorist sympathising GiggidyGopPoo to tell us it is all a Western hoax ?

    1. GiggidyGoo

      Where have I said it’s a hoax?
As with some posters here, some with multiple identities (?), you have a tendency to read yet not understand the written word, especially when those words are questions and not statements. So, my comments on this are very recent, so you should be able to point to where I said it’s a hoax. Over to you chap.

      1. MaryLou's ArmaLite

You are as pathetic as the Iranian shills that were rolled out to deny they shot the plan down. You are blinded by your prejudices.

        1. GiggidyGoo

There you go. You can’t point out where I said it was a hoax. The only pathetic one is yourself.
There’s a reason why people fail exams – the inability to read and understand. It carries on to later life, and they make a complete fool of themselves then, consistently. Just as you have done.
          Toddle on chap.

          1. GiggidyGoo

Yep – once you’re finished digging, and come up with zilch, it’ll be a fish out of water. You have the thread, or should I say the line, and the hook is firmly in your mouth.

          2. MaryLou's ArmaLite

Have you ever considered working as a press officer for some despot regime like Iran, or if that is too far away Sinn Fein would be an option for you. You’d be a perfect fit.

          3. GiggidyGoo

Ah, another one that likes assumptions.
And another one who runs away when asked to back up posts.
Once you get around to understanding the written word maybe you’ll be able to write something sensible. Until then, keep running.

Scepticism of any contentious assertions by intelligence officials should be the standpoint of any rational person until solid evidence is provided to back it up. A grainy video originating from social media of the nighttime sky was not solid evidence by any means. It’s not too long ago that news media around the world was uncritically circulating the “chemical attack video” from Douma, Syria that never was. Then of course there’s the big one: “Saddam’s WMDs” which we should never forget – not to mention the “Russiagate” and “Trump is Putin’s puppet” disinformation that intelligence agencies have fed the public.

At least Iranian leaders have shown the decency to accept culpability, apologise and offer their condolences on behalf of Iran for the terrible blunder made:
“Our profound regrets, apologies and condolences to our people, to the families of all victims, and to other affected nations.” “Investigations continue to identify & prosecute this great tragedy & unforgivable mistake.”
Contrast that with the reaction of Bush Snr when the US downed an Iranian passenger flight in 1988: “I will never apologise for the United States of America. I don’t care what the facts are”

The pictures of the rocket fragments amongst the debris, and the shrapnel holes on the fuselage were pretty clear.

          2. f_lawless

Would ye get out of town – come on admit it, you don’t honestly have a clue who “Ashkan Monfared” is, the person said to have first posted the close up photos of rocket fragments on twitter. Even the media outlets that used them such as Sky, added the caveat “Experts in verification however cannot confirm if the images are genuine or exactly when or where they were taken”. That not solid evidence nor was “what appear to be holes in the fuselage” solid evidence that Iran shot down the plane

          3. MaryLou's ArmaLite

These idiots cannot accept that simple fact, they want to blame the Americas or the Jews or the… someone… anyone, other than the Iranians.

Enda Kenny nominated Padraig O Ceidigh, of Aer Arann to the senate in 2016.
Aer Arann has relied on government grants paid via the PSO levy, to survive
O Ceidigh offered to sell Aer Arann, which owns the airport, to the local community for €1 not too long ago.
Government pays €2,700,000 for a length of airstrip that a commission on behalf of itself valued it at €600,000.
    What’s going on here?

81 year old woman discharged from hospital. No, not into a step down facility. Released onto the street to sleep on the street and fend for herself. 81 years old!.
In the meantime, Leo Lad wishes Harry and Meghan the very best.
FG is the low-life party. Disgusting.

    1. GiggidyGoo

And just to put it into perspective – look at your parent (s) if you are in your 50s, or your grandparents if you are in your 20/30/40s.
Now create the image of one of them settling down for a nights sleep outside the GPO in the middle of winter, with €1 carrier bag from a supermarket holding all of their belongings with a discharge note from a hospital. Think about that.
Now think about what Varadkar, Harris, Donohue and Murphy have wreaked upon the population of this country that it has reached this situation.

Obviously it was a TD or a friend of the elite that owned the land the airport is on thus getting 4 times the land value from the government. Sure it’s only taxpayers money, it’s not like it could be put to better use than lining the pockets of the already rich.
