“I’ll tell you what I like about Chinese people. They’re hanging in there with the chopsticks, aren’t they? You know they’ve seen the fork. They’re staying with the sticks. I don’t know how they missed it. Chinese farmer gets up, works in the field with a shovel all day. Shovel. Spoon. Come on! You’re not plowing 40 acres with a couple of pool cues!”

They sell these in China with cartoon characters on the top for children to teach them how to use chopsticks properly.

Sometimes in restaurants they give them out to us silly western folk, out of pity.

I find these great. I used be able to use proper chopsticks, but sadly I have lost the dexterity in my fingers, and the feeling in a couple of them. As a result I can no longer use them properly, and often drop them. This type is a great alternative.

I know it sounds silly, but I always thought that Chinese and Japanese food tastes better with chopsticks, in part because it changes how the food is entering your mouth. Perhaps also being wooden (or plastic) does not transfer flavour to the food, which I sometimes find with metal utensils.

To be fair; we’re all going this way, our faculties gradually failing:
      Dexterity’s Midnight Runners eh?

These make great training chopsticks. My daughter had something similar and now she can use the regular ones.

So, what’s the big deal here?
