College Green, Dublin 2 (late 19th century)
Rob Cross writes:
My restored and colourised late 1800s photo of College Green in Dublin City with the statue of William of Orange on his horse which was erected in 1701. King Billy was badly damaged in an explosion in 1928 and removed in 1929….

Rob must have photoshopped out all the electrical boxes for the traffic lights and Luas!
…was it Fintan who suggested that a replica of the statue be re-erected during the current commemorations?
There’s a song waiting if they try it. The Grehan Sisters dealt with that particular period of tidying up the landscape:

Was it only Albert that escaped?
Nice image.
Nice work on the image, but all undone by incorrect use of “late 1800s” which only indicates the period ~1806-1809.
So, you’ve basically broken even with this post : )
(but seriously, nice image)
Very cool.
All looks quite accurate/ “real” apart from the skin colour on some of the faces – might be worth working on that for your next image.
